<muurkha_>
oh, I see: "muurkha, Hi. sorry - over in the UK here, so I'd gone to bed ... A lot of the early dive coputers wer CNC milled from a solid block of aluminium, the successfull ones were then injection moulded. 10-12 bar pressure is a factor, but they're usually potted, but the battery compartment has to be at atmospheric, depending on the type of battery. it's not easy"
<muurkha_>
thanks gordonDrogon!
<muurkha_>
I'd also thank whitequark for running the helpful logger but they're not here

Hi, is there any service to run RISC-V binaries on a real RISC-V machine remotely? A friend wants to run benchmarks for a thesis, but the results of the gem5 simulator are unexpected. Purchasing real hardware is likely not possible in time. I know that e.g. Intel offers access to their new hardware through the cloud. Is there by chance something
<intrigus>
similar for RISC-V?
<muurkha>
you can probably program an open-source design into a Xilinx FPGA

<muurkha>
or even a Lattice part

wow, the gcc compile farm doesnt have a risc-v box?
<leah2>
intrigus: idk any services, but if it's nothing that takes too long i can offer a shell on my Unmatched machine

interesting, it's on the wish list so I must be wrong -- maybe jimwilson remembers what happened?

<jrtc27>
I remember RVI people asking about it ages ago and I pointed them at the relevant docs
<jrtc27>
think they were going to hook one or more beaglev's and unmatched's to it
<jrtc27>
but I guess someone at RVI dropped the ball on it
<leah2>
palmer: it's not listed at least
<palmer>
ya, I'm sure the wiki is accurate (this would have been years ago, and it's even listed on the wish list). The current crop of boards are all a bit wacky, but if you think folks would be interested then I'm happy to go chase that around -- I don't use the compile farm, so I don't know
