10:25 <inky> kiva, i keep my 3.5ghz intel laptop as 2ghz always to make fan spin less and with less noise. hate it when web pages heat the cpu (well i also close those pages soon and use noscript but still)

10:25 <inky> i also compile on my gentoo with one thread and load average .5 again, it is slow but i live comfortably while it builds in background, also it takes less memory.

14:51 <uvos> freemangordon: but the cursor handling in mutter was/is terrible anyhow. i remember reading about a bug where they simply handle the cursor input events in the general event loop instead, like xorg, just updateing the hw cursor via a irq handler. predictably this made the cursor unusable whenever the system was heavly loaded.
