> The idea is, instead of placing windows inside the small viewport (that is, the monitor) to arrange them along an arbitrarily large two-dimensional wall (generally without windows overlapping) and focus the compositors job on moving around along this wall efficiently and providing ways to the user to rearrange the wall such that he finds the overall layout intuitive.

wtf does this sentence mean
* illiliti
sees python
<illiliti>
ugh
<acheam>
yeah python is suboptimal
<acheam>
do you have python on your system, illiliti?
* acheam
wonders if muon can replace meson for kiss yet
<acheam>
I know I mention it every couple months, and each time it seems to be in a more complete state
<acheam>
tleydxdy[m]: I think the idea is that you arrange all your windows on a 2d plane (which can be bigger than the monitor) and then you move the plane around relative to the monitor to see different parts of it
<illiliti>
i do, but i'm working to purge it from my system
<acheam>
like if all your windows were arranged on a piece of paper, but you could only view it from an area the size of an index card
<acheam>
illiliti: what still needs it? besides meson
<illiliti>
many packages require it at build time
<illiliti>
it is possible to have python-free system at runtime though
<illiliti>
i recall gdb requires python at runtime, not sure why
<acheam>
lldb bro
<illiliti>
lldb yeah
<illiliti>
i heard lldb isn't usable
<acheam>
its been fine for my usage, which admittedly isn't very in depth
<acheam>
gdb will autodetect python and link to it if its there IIRC
<acheam>
but you can build without it
<acheam>
it has some features "enhanced" with python
<tleydxdy[m]>
yeah the whole readme left me really confused, and it doesn't read like it's just non native or something
<acheam>
its hard to explain somewhat abstract graphical stuff in text
