<claudia>
I forced myself to use links2 in graphics mode since a couple of days and still like it. Its often pretty useable.
<midfavila>
links is fantastic
<midfavila>
it's my daily driver
<midfavila>
if you want, I have a patch in my repo to add suckless tabbed support.
<claudia>
Yeah, I would safe it for later.
<midfavila>
cool stuff
<claudia>
But I use dwm with awesomebar patch which is basically tabbed interface.
<midfavila>
neat.
<midfavila>
so, TIL that my website is just about ISO HTML compliant.
<midfavila>
very cool.
<sad_plan>
im contemplating switching from eudev to mdev. is it a trivial process? i noticed it got a little easier anyway with libudev-zero by illiliti. seeing as you can just kiss a it, and eudev is no longer a dep for libinput and xorg-server
<midfavila>
i tried using badwolf for a while. wasn't the biggest fan of it

I must say. it just worked. Im impressed tbh. I was actually expecting it to not work at all. i mean not having any keyboar working, mouse not working. but.. it just works :D

<dilyn>
libudev-zero is basically a drop-in replacement for eudev if you're already using mdev
<dilyn>
the real work comes in when you stop using mdev
<sad_plan>
I figured, but yeah, it also stated such on the github page.
<sad_plan>
yeah, I figured that at that point it would be more work. only complaint is the sound is abit low tbh. and if I raise it, it starts to crackle
<midfavila>
that's odd
<sad_plan>
yeah, it didnt do so before I switched, and thats basiclly all I did between earlier when playing a video, and now.
<sad_plan>
yeah its defitivly lower than before.

oh wow. firefox pretty. i switch to firefox.
<noocsharp>
^ apparent this is mozilla's target demographic now
<midfavila>
I don't know anyone who actually likes their newer designs.
<noocsharp>
yeah, like instead of making it look pretty, make it work pretty
<midfavila>
that requires more effort
<midfavila>
better to throw a new coat of paint on it to impress the normies

CGI is so nifty.
<noocsharp>
what are you using it for?
<midfavila>
right now I just have a sample perl script that prints out environment details on my server
<midfavila>
but eventually I'd like to use it to generate ISO HTML-compliant image galleries
<midfavila>
since there's a couple Scheme interpreters on SDF, I'll likely write it in that.
<noocsharp>
id just write a program that generates a static html page whenever a new image is added
<midfavila>
that's basically what I want to do
<midfavila>
but using CGI for it is an excuse to tinker with new toys
<noocsharp>
ah, fair
<midfavila>
i'll be able to add sorts and stuff, too, with CGI
<midfavila>
since I want to add some IRL photos, eventually
<mmatongo>
can anyone help me with this, been having this issue for a few days now
<mmatongo>
Everytime I reboot my laptop the date/time resets to 2017
<mmatongo>
Had this issue before but I forgot how I fixed it last time

back on matrix?
<testuser[m]1>
My old homeserver was cursed for a few weeks
<testuser[m]1>
So i just decided to run stable synapse now
<testuser[m]1>
Purged the old one
<ang>
I see
<ang>
do you use matrix besides the irc bridge?
<testuser[m]1>
I use matrix for mainly shitcord and this irc channel
<testuser[m]1>
And 1-2 native matrix channels
<ang>
fair
<ang>
wait, there is a discord bridge of some sort?
<testuser[m]1>
There's a few
<testuser[m]1>
I wrote my own cuz others were in nodejs
<ang>
that's interesting
<testuser[m]1>
I was bothered with nodejs cuz this irc bridge hosted by matrix.org is reliable but at that time, their discord bridge didn't really work, took ages to send messages
<testuser[m]1>
Idk if itst still the case
<testuser[m]1>
So i wasn't gonna run nodejs on my self hosted server
<ang>
what's yours written in?
<testuser[m]1>
Python
<testuser[m]1>
I don't mind it cuz i have like 2 dependencies
<ang>
only mildly better
<ang>
I wouldn't mind tho, I have python anyway and can't really get rid of it :(
<testuser[m]1>
Yeah you need python anyway

<testuser[m]1>
installed udev ?
<testuser[m]1>
you need to enable the eudev service too
<testuser[m]1>
or mdev
<helpmeunfreezexo>
How do I enable eudev?
<testuser[m]1>
ln -s /etc/sv/udevd /var/service/

<helpmeunfreezexo>
I created the pastebin from a livecd, but how do I get the dmesg?
<testuser[m]1>
you get dmesg from booting into the kernel
<testuser[m]1>
just dont launch xorg

I have a chroot, and tried to install toybox. Since toybox requires bash, i built in my host env and installed with PREFIX=/mnt/bin/ make install_flat. Something weird happened because now I can not run any commands in my chroot, they come up with command not found. But the file is in my /bin/. The toybox binary that it is linked to is also in my
<Cattt64>
/bin. I can even run the commands from my host envoirment with /mnt/bin/toybox or /mnt/bin/ls.
