<remiliascarlet> The state of modern gaming is so bad, it made me reconnect my old Super Famicom and Nintendo 64 consoles again.
<SiFuh> Awesome!
<remiliascarlet> I know, right? Seeing a game booting up instantly instead of having to go through a billion menu's, company logo's, slow ass loading and title screens, and having to sit out 2 hours of tutorial levels and/or unskippable intro clips is really refreshing.

<remiliascarlet> I literally switch on the SFC with the ゼルダの伝説神々のトライフォース, 2 A presses later, and I'm playing the game.
<SiFuh> Yep, hate that too. I never had a problem with Off Road Racer or Space Invaders. Snipes I like but I hate having to select Z9 everytime I want to play again!
<remiliascarlet> I also played F-ZERO earlier, instant play!
<remiliascarlet> Chrono Trigger took longer to start playing, but that's because it's such a text heavy game. Still far less frustrating than all the modern games.
<SiFuh> Crazy Cars III and California Games ;-)
<SiFuh> Into the Eagles Nest
<SiFuh> One Must Fall, Thexder, Willy the Worm.
<SiFuh> I even have Oregon Trail here

<remiliascarlet> Never heard of any of these before, but maybe that's just a matter of which era you grew up in.
<SiFuh> They are DOS games I use to play on the IBM XT. I have kept a copy ever since. Everytime I install a main driver I copy the folder Games over and install dosbox
<remiliascarlet> The only DOS games I played were the first 5 Touhou games.
<remiliascarlet> Because ZUN moved to Windows from the 6th game.
<SiFuh> No Cammander Keen, Prince of Persia, Pacman or Boulderdash?
<remiliascarlet> I played Pacman, but in an arcade.
<SiFuh> I reckon the three most played games ever would have been Pacman, Space Invaders and Donkey Kong.
<SiFuh> And probably Tetris could be added in amongst that
<remiliascarlet> Though nowadays I pretty much exclusively play rhythm games at arcades, I tried Pokken and Gundam before, but Pokken is what I have on a Nintendo Switch (and never even play it anymore), and Gundam I failed at so hard, got too embarrased to publicly play it again.

<remiliascarlet> I also tried Jojo, but it felt more like a Fortnite ROM hack than anything else. And very few cabinets available, so I had to travel far away to even play it.
<SiFuh> My all time favorite games would have to be Mortal Kombat Trilogy, Tekken, Colin McRae Rally and Colin McRae Rally 2005.

<remiliascarlet> My all time favorites are Super Mario 64, Super Mario World, Yoshi Island, Mario Story, Pokemon Gold/Silver, Mario Kart DS, and Goemon.
<remiliascarlet> And yes, up until a few years ago, I only played on Nintendo consoles (excluding arcades). I then switched to PC gaming, only to then go full retro again.
<remiliascarlet> PC gaming is great because there's no restrictions in what you can possibly release for it, but the vast majority of games are either the AAA games I've been walking away from, or indies with their woke Code of Conduct religion, or adult light novels that over time really start getting repetitive.
<SiFuh> Never liked Mario. Although the movie was pretty good
<SiFuh> The Super Mario Bros. Movie (2023)
<remiliascarlet> I don't really have the patience to sit through a movie.

<SiFuh> That is what beer is for. I was expecting wome crappy left wing rainbow shit. But nope, it was very good.
<SiFuh> wome/some*
<remiliascarlet> Maybe because Nintendo Co. Ltd hasn't been hit with wokeness yet. The American and European departments are unfortunately.

<SiFuh> When I go to the Cinema. I choose the very back row on the far right side away from the door. This is because I also don't have the patience to sit through a movie. I often get up and walk around in the back while it is playing to keep active ;-) I also sneak in beer too.
<SiFuh> remiliascarlet: I was very upset when I was looking for my Nintendo Donkey Kong Game & Watch and found out it had been thrown out. :-(
<SiFuh> Still dissappointed about it
