<ukky> farkuhar: strange things are happening with libarchive. When rejected directory is empty, UID/GID will not be preserved initially. But when updating pkg for the second time, over existing items in rejected dir, UID/GID will be assigned properly.
<ukky> farkuhar: Here is a combined patch fixing FS#15 and FS#380: http://ix.io/4GuP ; Fix for FS#380 is tested using cups port, which installs /etc/cups/ with 'lp' GID(7).

<remiliascarlet> farkuhar: "But if we want to preserve CRUX's reputation as the Linux distro closest to OpenBSD in philosophy" One major difference between OpenBSD and Crux is that the Crux community is far more friendly. The OpenBSD community really feels like Theo's own echo chamber at times, where you get absolutely roasted to death for just asking questions.
<z3bra> I tend to disagree. I've been on #openbsd for quite some time and people here have been very helpful and kind with me whenever I had questions.
<z3bra> Regardless, crux community remains the most welcoming one ;)

<farkuhar> ukky: "strange things are happening ... when rejected directory is empty" <- Already noted in FS#379, but attributed to pkgadd (for not populating /var/lib/pkg/rejected). Did you check that the empty directory actually gets created in the rejection dir, on first install?
<farkuhar> Anyway, thanks for the new patch. I look forward to testing it.

<remiliascarlet> z3bra: I was actually referring to the mailing list. Based on my experience there, I didn't even bother going to #openbsd.
