<_moth_> yt-dlp signature mismatch
<farkuhar> _moth_: I don't get a signature mismatch with yt-dlp, but the timestamp of my tarball is March 8. Maybe the tarball has been changed upstream in the intervening month.
<farkuhar> I just renamed the old tarball and downloaded a fresh copy from github. Still no signature mismatch. Is your ports tree up to date?
DaViruz has joined #crux
<_moth_> farkuhar: yes. port tree in up to date. you probably right. i remove old tarball and download them again. signature mismatch gone after that. thank you
ppetrov^ has quit [Quit: Leaving]
<farkuhar> _moth_: glad to hear it worked out. That's the problem when the upstream source url doesn't include the version in the filename. pkgmk won't recognize that a new download is needed, if it finds a file of the same name already on disk.
<stenur> renames= is a 3.7 feature
<stenur> heck i'd wish it cumes
<_moth_> thx for explanation. this is the first time I have encountered such a problem in CRUX
<_moth_> native git support and noextract for archives is coming too?! wow!

<stenur> ???
<stenur> oh, did not amend
<stenur> merde that i do not have a 3.6 VM no more, sorry
<SiFuh_> Merde
<stenur> and never again an i386 OpenBSD VM, it is so painfully slow on 5.15 again.
<stenur> (after i had the impression speed is "en par" with other BSDs on 5.10)
<SiFuh_> Hahaha
<SiFuh_> Yes
<stenur> i was hoping you had an idea in fact
<SiFuh_> OpenBSD is not designed to run in a VM
<SiFuh_> Kind of defeats the purpose of being a secure OS
<stenur> yes i know Kettenis talked this some years ago but i could not find his post again.
<stenur> ah, he said something about tickless aka timer interrupts, "but i am not the one doing this"
<stenur> that much i remember the quote should be almost an exact citation.
<SiFuh_> Let's duckduckgo it
<stenur> oh i spent an hour searching last week (google)
<stenur> also painfully read through marc.info search
<SiFuh_> HAHAHA
<stenur> -no-hpet did not help, but it was not Kettenis who said that. hmmmmm
<stenur> Maybe CONFIG_PREEMPT_DYNAMIC=y CONFIG_HAVE_PREEMPT_DYNAMIC=y, added this in 5.15
<stenur> naah!?!
<SiFuh_> I should boot CRUX
<SiFuh_> Lazy though
<farkuhar> stenur, i was curious what prompted this comment from 2 April 19:15 "fascinating. that is the font XML stuff i could cry over". Was it the update to fontconfig that motivated this latest rant against the use of XML in config files?
<stenur> yes
<stenur> that was a week ago i have forgotten
<farkuhar> in my case it was browsing through a dotfiles backup from five years ago, and stumbling upon an old set of config files for openbox. I'm glad I no longer run a window manager whose config is so troublesome to edit by hand.
<farkuhar> rc.xml, menu.xml, $HOME/.themes/$themename/openbox-3, ... It was a real trip down memory lane.

<angel1357> Hello
<stenur> xml config is "over my head"
<angel1357> any news about crux 3.7 release date?
<stenur> not that i know; todo mostly done, OpenSSL 3 will surely not be it i think, so...
<angel1357> ok
