<SiFuh> remiliascarlet: No gnuradio in OpenBSD 7.6 :'-(

<zorz> jour bonne bon bon
<zorz> :P
<SiFuh> zorz: 7.6 released
<zorz> most probably i will go back to openbsd
<zorz> :)
<zorz> is it a bit faster ?
<SiFuh> Authorization required, but no authorization protocol specified
<SiFuh> slock: cannot open display
<SiFuh> doas is suppose to borrow the DISPLAY variable but it isn't
<SiFuh> Hmm
<zorz> dont know :(

<farkuhar> ukky: After further testing, I don't think my SIP client was failing to send VOIP registration packets. The incoming calls simply never had a chance to reach the switchboard (where an interactive dialog would prompt them for their party's extension), because that line's capacity for incoming calls is often maxed out. I should either upgrade my subscription to allow Direct Inward Dialing, or switch to a different service.
<zorz> farkuhar: install windows :P
<SiFuh> Fuck you zorzy!
<zorz> heh
<zorz> windows stable man!
<SiFuh> The go use it
<SiFuh> And stop whoring OSs
<remiliascarlet> zorz: "where is my ban?" In your ass.
<remiliascarlet> SiFuh: Already upgraded the 7.5 machines to 7.6, and snapshotted laptops got upgraded too (I had to manually download bsd.rd though). In both cases, really easy.
<remiliascarlet> But admittedly, going from -CURRENT to -RELEASE is only slightly more hands on, but only minimally.
<zorz> where is my ban ?
<remiliascarlet> In your ass, manbitch.
<zorz> poor lavaball
<remiliascarlet> zorz: OpenBSD was never about speed. Sure, it's minimal, lightweight, and extremely secure, but they never cared about speed.
<zorz> remiliascarlet: security depends on the admin... kisslinux is secure as openbsd maybe more.
<SiFuh> Going from current to release is easy. Just do a sysupgrade when the release arrives. It will pretty much be automatic.
<SiFuh> zorz: fuck off with your bullshit lies.
<zorz> what lies
<SiFuh> The last you think said.
<zorz> heh
<SiFuh> If it uses linux kernel it is not secure
<zorz> yes okay
<zorz> and they go full towards rust
<zorz> most probably will and up openbsd or netbsd which is fast enoigh
<SiFuh> zorz: Do you know that fairytale "The boy who cride wolf"?
<SiFuh> cried*
<zorz> ofcourse not :)
<SiFuh> We change the boy to you and the wolf to a new OS/Distro
<zorz> yeah yeah
<SiFuh> And in the end you go back to Windows
<SiFuh> Hahahaha
<zorz> WindowsNT
<zorz> :P
zorz has quit [Quit: leaving]
<SiFuh> WindowsNoT
<SiFuh> Someone should let ppetrov^ know zorz is going back to Windows
<remiliascarlet> SiFuh: If I sysupgrade from a current, it tries to find OpenBSD 7.7, which doesn't exist yet.
<SiFuh> Interesting because I upgraded current 7.6 to 7.6 release using sysupgrade
<SiFuh> Hmm, maybe it was 7.5-current...
zorz has joined #crux-social
<SiFuh> remiliascarlet: ahh, config -e /obsd shows it was 7.5. And it was current for sure.
<zorz> :P
<zorz> ./windows 7.5
<remiliascarlet> Rust is a failed experiment already.
<remiliascarlet> Kernel maintainers are leaving over Rust, soon all Linux will have left will be a bunch of leftist SJWs, and Linus.
<remiliascarlet> "If it uses linux kernel it is not secure" Same with FreeBSD, considering how bloated it has become nowadays.
<remiliascarlet> And FreeBSD is going down the Rust in the kernel path too now.
<SiFuh> And OpenBSD says there is no point
<remiliascarlet> I wonder what NetBSD has to say about that, but doesn't seem like they will do it anytime soon either.
<remiliascarlet> It's a decent OS for hardware that OpenBSD doesn't run on (like the entire SGI line of computers for example).
<remiliascarlet> OpenBSD used to support Sillicon Graphics workstations, but dropped support for those as of 6.9 or something.
<SiFuh> remiliascarlet: I doubt it could ever get into NetBSD since it supports more architectures than rust will ever.
<remiliascarlet> Or any other language that depends on LLVM for that matter.
<SiFuh> remiliascarlet: Oh I found something of interest
<SiFuh> sparc64 - Sun UltraSPARC and Fujitsu SPARC64 systems
<remiliascarlet> I know.
<SiFuh> --> Fujitsu <--
<remiliascarlet> Would that SPARC PC I found the other day work too?
<remiliascarlet> Yes, I'm aware that Fujitsu makes SPARC machines too.
<SiFuh> Yes, because remember I said it was a Fujitsu and I had never heard of it before yet it is written write there on the OpenBSD website.
<SiFuh> write/right
<SiFuh> I used the UltraSPARC when I was in Thailand
<remiliascarlet> Looks like Tadpole wasn't the only SPARC laptop: https://www.floodgap.com/retrobits/riscy/sparky.html
<SiFuh> What was funny is that whenever I installed OpenBSD on it. It would crash to kernel ddb within the day of the installation but then it would never crash again.
<SiFuh> remiliascarlet: Did you read the words after Wi-Fi?
<remiliascarlet> Yes?
<remiliascarlet> The good old early 2000! Back when you could still say whatever you wanted without getting cancelled over it.
<SiFuh> --> built-in crotch heater <--
<SiFuh> Reminds me of the news story back in Early 2k when a guy realised he had burned his penis using a laptop.
