It says on the armbian page: PD is broken .... Workaround is to use stupid / fixed at 5 volts USB-C power supply... NVME boot works only with eMMC/SD boot. SPI boot loader is not working properly yet.
<forestj>
The hardware specs sound very tempting, but how stable is it really (for a server usecase)? Does anyone here have experience with this hardware ?

do you see something else than opp voltage and regulator ramp delay that would explain memory errors (kernel crashing in random places) when cpufreq ?
<abws>
about helios64 u-boot fix. It is a one character fix : spi_get_bus_and_cs > _spi_get_bus_and_cs
<abws>
I will try to make a patch (currently building u-boot and kernel to test on hw, there might be another issue that does not trigger a compile error

<dave> @IgorPec Still testing (to make sure syncing works properly), but in theory these URLs should be ready to go:

<dave> The location of these are primarily NA (it's behind a CDN).

I am lost into patches/u-boot
<abws>
u-boot-rockchip-v2022.07 v.2207 or u-boot-rockchip64 (the new funciton name only exist starting from v2022.07
<abws>
I want it to apply to v2022.10 too when needs be (or will the patches be moved around at that time ?)
<abws>
ok seems it will only apply to helios64 u-boot build if in u-boot-rockchip64 !-)
<forestj>
Ok I think I answered my own question by joining the radxa discord and asking there. They say that the current recommendation is to purchase a USB Type-C to DC Barrel Jack type-M adapter and use it with a 12v power adapter

is armbian linux-6 build broken for rockchip64, the debian rule to build the linux binary fails on signing a few crypt modules
<Armbian-Discord>
<TheBug> You can use any large mirror really, st-pete or dotsrc, they all sync on regular intervals, there will never be a time when a big release happens that everything is magically up to date in the next few minutes, so you don't have to be concerned its updated every 2 minutes or something, but as long as its coming up to dat eabout every 4 hours, you should be fine
<Armbian-Discord>
<TheBug> @dave ^
<Armbian-Discord>
<TheBug> Also your mirrors have been added to the redirectors now.
<Armbian-Discord>
<dave> oh nice
<Armbian-Discord>
<TheBug> but
<Armbian-Discord>
<TheBug> I do have one concern while I review
<Armbian-Discord>
<TheBug> you need to allow indexing of folders
<Armbian-Discord>
<TheBug> turn autoindex to on in the folders
<Armbian-Discord>
<TheBug> because if someone come to it at mirror.ai.moda/armbian/apt/
<Armbian-Discord>
<TheBug> they should be able to see the file list
<Armbian-Discord>
<TheBug> there is no reason to hide it
<Armbian-Discord>
<dave> it's not hidden; the files are stored in an S3 bucket, so I have to write something to generate the index myself 🙂
<Armbian-Discord>
<TheBug> ohh hmm
<Armbian-Discord>
<dave> It is on my TODO list
<Armbian-Discord>
<dave> you're not wrong
<Armbian-Discord>
<TheBug> well if you have nginx in front
<Armbian-Discord>
<TheBug> it should still be able to list the folder ?
<Armbian-Discord>
<TheBug> or how are you hosting it I guess?
<Armbian-Discord>
<dave> I don't have nginx in front 🙂
<Armbian-Discord>
<dave> Cloudflare in front with a Worker rewriting the requests to a storage bucket. I'm going to be adding caching soon too to make response time even better.
abws has left #armbian [Au revoir]
<Armbian-Discord>
<TheBug> So to have this work correctly and not cause issues I have to manually set a geo location for it to suggest your mirror in using longitude and latitude, because otherwise using what you setup it would constantly be changing locations and possibly causing strange issues in the redirector. Do you have a location where you use a lot of mirror traffic where you would want me to locate it to service more generally?
<Armbian-Discord>
<dave> Miami
<Armbian-Discord>
<dave> also thanks for going live, I see there's one small issue with ranged reads that I'm working on fixing now
<Armbian-Discord>
<dave> should be fixed.
<Armbian-Discord>
<TheBug> okay I have specified location and restarted
<Armbian-Discord>
<TheBug> you can test by using curl and see what it gives you back in your area
<Armbian-Discord>
<dave> I guess that might be closer 😛
<Armbian-Discord>
<TheBug> you will get top 3 for your area, you have to test multiple times but yes
<Armbian-Discord>
<TheBug> you need to be near to it for it to be recommended as one of the top3
<Armbian-Discord>
<dave> traffic seems to have gone down to zero
<Armbian-Discord>
<TheBug> well probably because it was previously overtaking all locations and serving everything since IP would change using A record RR
<Armbian-Discord>
<TheBug> so yeah I imagine when your in one location and not everywhere you have different outcome
<Armbian-Discord>
<dave> ah I see traffic now
<Armbian-Discord>
<dave> I mean it kinda is in all locations? 😛
<Armbian-Discord>
<TheBug> I showed you what it should do, it should show some page and allow indexing of it so you can actually use it outside of being called directly -- however for the moment it is serving files correctly from what I can see so it is working in that capacity at least
<Armbian-Discord>
<TheBug> I don't seem to have any systems close enough to miami to trigger your server atm
<Armbian-Discord>
<TheBug> NC isn't close enough I guess
<Armbian-Discord>
<dave> my bad, you totally did. I read what you said here too fast.
<Armbian-Discord>
<TheBug> my guess is by locating it to miami you will need to be near florida to be recommended
<Armbian-Discord>
<TheBug> if you get really low traffic and dont mind more
<Armbian-Discord>
<TheBug> we can geo locate it somewhere more active later
<Armbian-Discord>
<dave> this is good for now until I'm more confident everything is syncing perfectly and staying up to date.

<abws> nvm about the linux-6 rockchip64 failure to build . I have CONFIG_DEBUG_INFO enabled and the kernel debug build script is broken (when a module is compressed the kernel scripts/package/builddeb attempt to get debug symbols and sign the .ko files which are no more, there is only .ko.xz left
