well then. someone in #pinebook made an img for testing to see if levinboot worked for suspend to ram on pinebook pro and it works like a champ so issue is with u-boot
<Macer>
it was nice to see it actually work on the pbp. i figured it *couldn't* work heh.. i've tried so many things with it to try to see if it were possible
<nekomancer[m]>
"works like a champ"?
<nekomancer[m]>
who need suspend to ram at all? suspend should be to disk. suspend to ram is just a slowing cpu.
<Macer>
s2idle is. Suspend to ram is… better. Heh.
<Macer>
I just tested it with [deep] and it worked over and over.
<Macer>
It was someone else’s img tho that they put together for me to test. I don’t think any distros use levinboot for pbp afaik.
<Macer>
But it was just to make sure it could suspend at all so the issue is u-boot related it seems.
<Macer>
Not having it is a major hang up for me. Without being able to suspend properly having an arm based laptop is sort of moot.

One of the new PR's appears to have broken the rk3328 orangepi-r1-lts build. make[2]: *** [scripts/Makefile.build:288: drivers/spi/spi-rockchip.o] Error 1 make[1]: *** [scripts/Makefile.build:551: drivers/spi] Error 2 make: *** [Makefile:1868: drivers] Error 2
<schwarz_Kat>
Maybe ignore. I see some broken patches removed. Will try again.
