I think it would be far simpler to use ebtable's snat-arp option?

cheakoirccloud: you need to script it and turn of the NetworkManager
<cheakoirccloud>
stipa: Adding "incomplete" to my other criticisms is unhelpful.
<stipa>
it's not easy
<stipa>
some basic networking knowledge is needed
<cheakoirccloud>
I think the real problem is, it's unpopular.
<stipa>
it works for me
<stipa>
that's how i get a wifi repeater with all traffic going through the other side
<cheakoirccloud>
If by "it" you mean trying bits and prices of conflicting instructions together with unhelpful suggestions... Then you lie.
<stipa>
if you're going to use iptables to bridge stuff you won't be abel to stay on the same subnet
<cheakoirccloud>
ebtables != iptables.
<stipa>
right right
<stipa>
idk try it
<stipa>
i tried iptables but i haven't tried ebtables, proxyarping and helpers gave me what i wanted

cheakoirccloud: this is on a machine where one wifi nic is connected to AP as a client, the other wifi nic is AP and there is also an ethernet nic "bridged" to both of them https://justpaste.it/50cx5
<stipa>
it's a wifi repeater
<stipa>
AP wif interface has an option in 88x2bu_5GHostapdConfig.conf to join the br0

<stipa>
them that script is run on boot as a service
<stipa>
then*
<stipa>
eventually you'll come to the combination that works for you, i know that i had trouble on almost every step until i got it working

I think bridging(brctl) is not supported for my wifi drivers.
<stipa>
it's is if you use it as an AP
<stipa>
if you use it as a client you need something like proxyarping to fake bridge stuff with it
<stipa>
you have the sequence when to do what in my script from above
<stipa>
go line by line and check if it did something, check if it does what it's supposed to do until you get what you want, you'll have a script in the end
<stipa>
there are some scripts on line that do such things automatically but they use iptables which is not what you want
<stipa>
give it few days
