I'm having an issue with Armbian build rockchip64 5.15y (current) building for orangepi-r1plus-lts. https://paste.ee/p/DAnUy
<Armbian-Discord>
<IgorPec> i'll just freeze kernel now, so we are not going to have similar surprises
<Armbian-Discord>
<IgorPec> during the release preparation
<schwarz_Kat>
IgorPec: I am investigating a nasty RX bug in the r8152 driver on rockchip64 5.15 and 5.16 that affects the r8153b chips in OrangePi R1plus LTS and has been reported in NanoPi R2S and probably affects OrangePi R1plus and others. The bug kills the RX interface and it requires power down to reset. I can now trigger the bug reliably with bidirectional high load on OrangePi R1plus LTS.
<schwarz_Kat>
The board works well on 5.10 with TX offload disabled and the same is reported for NanoPi R2S in the forums.
<schwarz_Kat>
I was intending to investigate possibility of reverting to the 5.10 driver with with TX offload disabled by default. I will bug report soon.

<IgorPec> ok
<Armbian-Discord>
<IgorPec> that would be nice if we can something about.
<schwarz_Kat>
Yep... 5.10 driver works with minor tweaks on 5.16. Not fully tested, just compiled and tried to break it, but looking good. Question is, is it a good idea to do this for all rockchip64 I will do a bug report and start a conversation.

<IgorPec> if driver doesn't bother anyone, you can add it to all rockchip64 , which should / will eventually merged into one

Kind of odd older pinebook pro armbian images don’t seem to want to boot.

<Mangix> fun question, why do I have 22.05-trunk.0053?
<Armbian-Discord>
<IgorPec> that's automated build. where did you get image?=
<Armbian-Discord>
<IgorPec> or EDGE, those are also daily / on change builds
<Macer>
IgorPec: I don’t think there is a current one is there?

<Armbian-Discord>
<Mangix> Helios 4 image from website and then sudo apt upgrade
<Macer>
Maybe I’ll try again when I get home. Maybe no functional uboot on the img?
<Macer>
It doesn’t matter anyways tbh. Without functional suspend the pbp is a bit useless for why I got it. May just put it on eBay. They seem to be in strong demand still.
<Armbian-Discord>
<IgorPec> That would be a bug. What dou you have here: cat /etc/apt/sources.list.d/armbian.list
<Macer>
Kind of weird that there aren’t any Debian/Ubuntu based distros
<Armbian-Discord>
<Mangix> deb https://beta.armbian.com bullseye main bullseye-utils bullseye-desktop
<ArmbianHelper>
^ armbian storage
<Armbian-Discord>
<IgorPec> it should not be beta.armbian.com ... well, in this case its not dramatic
<Armbian-Discord>
<Mangix> strange that bullseye-desktop is there too...
<Armbian-Discord>
<IgorPec> no, that's fine
<Armbian-Discord>
<IgorPec> all builds have all repos available, but we don't install anything from there if there is CLI images
<Armbian-Discord>
<IgorPec> also to upgrade from CLI is simple
<Armbian-Discord>
<Mangix> what should the URL be?
<ArmbianHelper>
(REDIRECT) ^ Index of /armbian/apt
<ArmbianHelper>
^ Error retrieving title. Check the log for more details.
<Armbian-Discord>
<IgorPec> perhpas you have changed once to beta and back? but i just find a bug recently that it goes one way only if there is https
<Armbian-Discord>
<IgorPec> remove https
<Armbian-Discord>
<IgorPec> change to http
<Armbian-Discord>
<Mangix> looks like that worked. Why was it https?
<Armbian-Discord>
<IgorPec> long story short. beta builds are placed on one server, which is https by default
<Armbian-Discord>
<IgorPec> apt is a redirector that shuffle around and pick your nearest mirror
<Armbian-Discord>
<Mangix> hmm OK.
<Armbian-Discord>
<IgorPec> macer: don't know. don't have pinebook but we do have two maintainers i think. bring it up on forums
<Armbian-Discord>
<IgorPec> it is possible that images were not assembled right. Build framework generates many images, some on public, but most on our servers. automated testing is pretty much WIP
<Armbian-Discord>
<Mangix> @IgorPec how do I downgrade the armbian stuff to the latest stable?
<Armbian-Discord>
<IgorPec> if you changed to apt.armbian.com ... just wait until next release comes. No need to change from this beta kernel, since its alright
<Armbian-Discord>
<IgorPec> its manual procedure, uninstall kernel image and dtb, then install again
<Armbian-Discord>
<Mangix> I think I managed to downgrade the kernel with armbian-config

IgorPec: oh. I was just going off the armbian page. Says it’s unsupported but there was an image so I tried it out. Didn’t boot. Heh. Probably isn’t maintained as much nowadays.
<Macer>
I’ll try it out again. Maybe I borked uboot when I was trying it.
<Macer>
From what I can tell the light never turned green which is usually bad uboot.
<Macer>
I’m pretty sure for uboot pinebook pro goes spi then emmc then SD but boots SD if there is a bootable OS on it.
<Armbian-Discord>
<IgorPec> there were reports that it works fine
