armbian goes with xfce instead of lxqt. isn't lxqt lighter and supported better? i mean xfce devs admit they are not focusing on resources at this point

goes with?
<buZz>
pretty sure you can just install lxqt on armbian
<buZz>
unlike windows, linux is specifically -ment- to give you 928374893723 options for nearly anything you might want to do on it
<buZz>
that armbian defaults to windowmanager A doesnt mean you cant install the other 389473 ones

<IgorPec> alekksander: xfce is just fine (few % lighter, if, is not relevant or justifiable to do anything) and will remain default one. Modern sbcs are anyway powerful enough to easily run bulkier (gnome based) desktops
<Armbian-Discord>
<IgorPec> they all work (in theory) but each one would need someone to keep an eye on
<Armbian-Discord>
<IgorPec> i3 & xmonad are both even lighter then lxqt ...

thanks for clarifying. i'll probably keep using xfce as it's the first one i actually liked when moved to linux years ago + not gonna see it that often anyhow

hey, can I just use dd or something rather than downloading another program to flash an sd card?
