<kraem_> interesting. i haven't been able to pipe logs preeviosly while using greetd. i'll try again. btw, how do you get your session back? i have to force kill river and restart it (effectively i still have my session since everything is in tmux + firefox, but still)

<NickH> I've not found a way to reover it either. My keybinding to exit still works though. So just exit and log back in.
<NickH> For testing purposes I usually just run a nested session, or for something like this I'd run river from a tty.
<NickH> Log from as session where I disconnect two external displays and open up my laptop. Then do close laptop and connect external displays https://0x0.st/H8W5.log
<NickH> Had to log out for something else so thought I'd see what info I could quickly grab.

<ifreund> NickH: if you use kanshi, killing and restarting kanshi should recover it
<ifreund> if not It might be a different bug I'm not yet aware of
<NickH> ifreund: I am using kanshi. Thanks for the tip, I'll try restarting it next time.
* NickH adds keybinding to resart kansh
<ifreund> you can also switch ttys to do that if the keybinding is missing or doesn't work

<vbt> Hello
<vbt> sway user here looking to switch to river
<plumeus> hi
<vbt> I have two questions. 1. I miss touchpad gestures in river. Can it be implemented like how it was implemented in sway (gesture-bind) ?
<vbt> 2. I want bars to auto hide(to save space). Can we query position of cursor somehow? it's implemented in hyprland

<martian_> There's XF86MonBrightnessUp (or Down) key specified in default init file. It works for my laptop. But where is it from? I have such a hard time finding some table with all symbols. It's not in xkb, it's not in input-event-codes, wev doesn't show key presses for some reason, showkey --scancodes just shows some hexes, and keyd utility that I use for
<martian_> key remapping has an entirely different naming. I just want to map keys to change keyboard brightness, and apparently it should be called like XF86KbdBrightnessUp, but it doesn't work for me so it should be something else

<ifreund> it't defined by libxkbcommon
<ifreund> xkbcli interactive-wayland is useful

<martian_> Also is it possible to enable repeat for these keys? E.g. if I press down the brightness up key long enough it will repeadetly spawn events to increase brightness, not just once

<martian_> kraem_: thank you.
<martian_> Is it also possible to introduce a delay? E.g. I want power button to work only if it's pressed for a second at least
