I recall someone having issues because they had multiple xdg-desktop-portals installed by accident. Both GTK and wlroots.

hey all, can someone point me to instructions on NixOS install of river? It could be as simple as adding it as a package but usually DEs and WMs require something like server.something.windowsManager.river.enable = true;

LemanR, one thing to keep in mind is that swaylock or waylock won't work out of the box. Make sure to add it to pam or whatever it was called.
