ifreund changed the topic of #river to: river - a dynamic tiling wayland compositor || https://github.com/riverwm/river || channel logs: https://libera.irclog.whitequark.org/river/
<p00f1> the same thing happens with pcmanfm-gtk3
<p00f1> shouldnt gtk3 stuff work with wayland 😭
<p00f1> ah
<p00f1> `Exec=sh -c "if [ -n \\"\\$*\\" ]; then exec /usr/bin/emacsclient --alternate-editor= --display=\\"\\$DISPLAY\\" \\"\\$@\\"; else exec emacsclient --alternate-editor= --create-frame; fi" sh %F`
<p00f1> i'm sure $DISPLAY stuff is the probkem
<p00f1> yep
<p00f1> changing it to $WAYLAND_DISPLAY fixes it
<p00f1> thanks
<waleee> p00f1: the next version of xfce apparently should have native wayland support, https://wiki.xfce.org/releng/wayland_roadmap
<p00f1> nice
<p00f1> i'd just use nautilus if scripting it was easy
<p00f1> 👍
<Nosrep> used to use xfce, very good
<Nosrep> weird thing was people were like "ooh xfce isnt even that much more lightweight than kde nowadays" and NO IT IS

<plumeus> Looking at the first comment, it says something about how the performance comparison was done on a per-thread basis
<plumeus> Didn't watch the video (yet)
<plumeus> https://github.com/PlummersSoftwareLLC/Primes/tree/drag-race/PrimeZig wow, the version of Zig used is like 2 years old
<plumeus> Also, man this video is absolutely boring. "Make sure to watch until the end to find out who won"
<plumeus> yeah, no
<waleee> the dude has some "hot" takes on linux on his channel
<plumeus> and no idea how to interpret https://plummerssoftwarellc.github.io/PrimeView/
<plumeus> I don't watch much programming videos but this guy feels very clickbaity

<mvnx> I'm trying to run River in a QEMU VM. I'm getting "EGL_EXT_platform_base not supported". I'm running QEMU with `-enable-kvm -vga virtio -display gtk,gl=on` among other flags, and was able to get Sway running with the same QEMU invokation so I think I'm just missing something on my system config. Any ideas?
