<ifreund> great, looks like I found another QT 5 bug
<novakane> what is it? Can't say I use a lot of QT app
<ifreund> Anyone able to think of a good name for a issue label to mean "this is not proper behavior, but it's not a bug with river but rather a bug with something else"
<leon-p> "external issue"
<ifreund> maybe shorten that to just "external"
<novakane> between QT and GTK, there is always something
<novakane> external sounds apropriate
<novakane> or I don't know if 'upstream' would fit
<ifreund> upstream would mean something river depends on IMO
<ifreund> but we don't depend on QT
<novakane> yeah that's true
<novakane> luckily :P
<ifreund> anyone feel like digging through the QT bug tracker to see if it's already reported? :P
<novakane> nnn use "not our bug" :P
<novakane> what's the link of the qt bug tracker
<ifreund> uh, no idea :D
<ifreund> I like "not our bug" though, then I can drop the bug label
<leon-p> its bugreports.qt.io I think
<novakane> not a big fan of this UI
<leon-p> so far I have not found anything that sounds like that. But all reports just focus on term output and valgrind and don't have a wayland debug log attached, so some of the reported random crashes might be this.
<ifreund> leon-p: this shouldn't be able to cause any kind of crash
<ifreund> it will just cause the compositor to handle the client poorly
<novakane> I didn't found anything that looks like related to this too
<novakane> Totally unrelated, what's you guys favorite monospace font? Trying some new fonts
<dnkl> novakane: I prefer bitmap fonts and have stuck with Dina for a long time
<novakane> dnkl: really? I'm not a big fan of bitmap font, I can't look at it for a long time
<ifreund> novakane: also prefer bitmap fonts, using cozette for at least a year
<ifreund> if I had a high dpi monitor vector fonts might be crisp enough
<ifreund> but I don't so..
<dnkl> ifreund: I have a 27" 4K monitor where I use vector fonts. It's barely ok...
<novakane> didn't thought bitmap fonts has so much success
<ifreund> dnkl: yeah, it's pretty hard to beat pixel perfection. I've heard that you can invest hours into tweaking your fontconfig stuff to improve hinting and what not but I don't have the time lol
<dnkl> novakane: when I switched, years ago, I initially thought they looked ugly. But quickly noticed they were easier on the eyes (less tired, less headaches).
<dnkl> now I can't go back :)
<novakane> dnkl: well I should try one day then, always great to rest your eyes
<novakane> I think they are desactived in my fontconfig though, need to think about this when I'll try
<leon-p> novakane: I am using Fantasque Sans Mono
<leon-p> I am one of those who spent a few hours tweaking fontconfig and it was totally worth it :P
<leon-p> although the best fontconfig config won't help if you font is bad and almost all the common fonts are pretty bad.
<leon-p> Very few have good hinting
<novakane> leon-p: Yeah IIRC I stole some of your fontconfig tweaks :D, Fantasque Sans is cool, I think I'm going to stick with JetBRainsMono though
<novakane> I found vicotr-mono too, it looks good but I think the italic is a bit too much for me
<dnkl> leon-p: Fantasque Sans Mono is what I use when I need/want to use a monospaced vector font :D
<dnkl> but with the ss01 style
<dnkl> don't care much for those looped k's
<leon-p> I like the k's. And the y's and the g's. Most fonts are way to angular and square for my taste, I like curvy fonts
<leon-p> The only other monospaced font I can stand to use for some time is the Ubuntu font, but that too gets a bit boring over time
