Finally got some time to work on the cursor reset thing. It's simple and works, but there are two issues: 1) It totally ignores focusing a different output, 2) When changing the tag focus while resizing, weird stuff happens. I have had that exact weird behaviour (trying to move the view just quickly moves the cursor off-screen) before, but can't remember what caused it.
<leon-p>
Can
<leon-p>
't do much about 1), since I am on my laptop currently (moving)

leon-p: was looking at your dotfiles, I see I'm not the only one with problems with colorscheme in aerc

River doesn't recognise my monitor display correctly on startup so I made a little script which is just wlr-randr and I `exec` that in the `init` for river but it fails, if I run the script after river launches and I can visually open a shell it works
<ifreund>
tsujp: I suggest using kanshi for persistent output config
<ifreund>
runnning wlr-randr from river's init will be racy
<tsujp>
I had an inkling it'd be racy as i have no way to confirm "wait until river is done"
<tsujp>
Okay checking out Kanshi
<tsujp>
Is this the right place to ask how to use xdg-desktop-portal-wlr with River, too?
<ifreund>
tsujp: using xdpw with river should be exactly the same as using it with sway or any other compositor
<tsujp>
Noice, and then I can just `exec kanshi` hey?
<ifreund>
tsujp: `exec` in shell will replace the process with the argument of `exec`, which may or may not be what you want
<tsujp>
True derp
<tsujp>
I'll do riverctl spawn kanshi
<ifreund>
that's fine, I use runit to manage kanshi, rivertile, etc. fwiw
<tsujp>
Alrighty goodnight for me, setting up bouncer tomorrow so I'm always lurking >:)

I was looking a bit at a freebsd ci runner, and every search results was an open issue on github, looks like nobody wants to make that :P

anybody knows if idle_inhibitor waybar module is sway-specific? it doesn't seem to work for me on river, but maybe it's not supposed to. I thought it interacted with swayidle but idk
<yyp>
elshize: Idle inhibitor protocol is not supported on river yet

yyp: I see, thanks; is there a workaround to temporarily disable swayidle without actually stopping the process?
<yyp>
I don't think so
<elshize>
that's a shame, but I'll live

<snakedye>
Uhh river supports kde's idle protocol
<snakedye>
Both swayidle and midle work on it
<elshize>
snakedye: how do I use that to stop swayidle from activating?
