<sicelo> "The audio codec supports a flexible digital filter on both the input and output. This can be used to perform equalization with no CPU load. This function is not used, and pulseaudio is used for this task when speakers are enabled"
* sicelo wonders if those functions could also help us with voice calls
<freemangordon> sicelo: no
<freemangordon> it is just an EQ
<sicelo> ah
<freemangordon> for voice etc Nokia PA modules are used
<freemangordon> which support way more complicated functionality than LPF/HPF
<freemangordon> OTOH upstream PA should already support most of the voice algos
<sicelo> i should give it a go again. i did manage to get voice call working on Leste once (but very bad quality on one of the directions - can't remember if it was the downstream or upstream voice)
<Wizzup> will restart the servers again in a ibt
<freemangordon> I am not sure the relevant PA modules are enabled by default

<uvos> just got a contract with a new operator for the d4.
<uvos> still have same issues with icd/unlock-ui as before
<uvos> (ie unlock ui never shows up, icd never shows gprs, everything works fine if you set it up via ofono/qmicli)
noidea_ has joined #maemo-leste
<Wizzup> uvos: right, this is primary a ofono problem
<Wizzup> it reports no sim so the ui to ask for pin does not show up
<Wizzup> try to open the phone cpa, it should ask for pin
<uvos> ok let me try that
<Wizzup> you might need to restart ofono just to get it to see the sim
<uvos> trying to open cpa just goes cellular not avialable
<uvos> restarting ofono makes no difference
<uvos> looks like i am up to dat
<uvos> e
<uvos> hm ok restaring ofono a few times made clicking on phone cpa show the pin entry eventually
<Wizzup> yeah, it's also racy
<uvos> no change in icds behaivor
<Wizzup> but this is ofono
<Wizzup> did you restart icd?
<uvos> yeah i tried killing icd after the pin enry showed up and the 2g and bars apeared
<uvos> nither befor nor after dose icd offer cellular
<uvos> it dose hang quite some time when opening the idalog
<uvos> ( i gues this is libicd-network-ofono timeing out )
<Wizzup> hmm
<Wizzup> I haven't seen a lot of hangs in the network dialog
<uvos> it hangs as in everything is gray
<uvos> for half a minute or so
<uvos> then the wifi aps become clickable
<uvos> this is allways the case for me if i have libicd-network-ofono installed

<uvos> hmm neat
<uvos> this sim allso totaly prevents the device from booting
<uvos> stock kernel hangs on kexec or pivot_root depending
<uvos> repeating untill you remove the sim or erase utags, then the stock os boots
<uvos> tmlind: any ideas on turning off the modem in kexecboot? maybe CFUN=0 is sufficant, do you know off hand what tty interface is the modem AT if in stock kernel?
<uvos> or maybe we can turn off the regulator
<uvos> (btw in all cases (android / mainline) the sim works fine if you insert it after kexec)

<Wizzup> have arm64 vm now on honeycomb thanks to meridion
<Wizzup> will do armhf now and then move over jenkins build
<Wizzup> uvos: btw I don't have this problem @ booting with sim in
<uvos> Wizzup: its just this sim
<uvos> Wizzup: its also the first sim i have that dosent have the entries for umts anymore
<uvos> hopfully those 2 things arnt related
<Wizzup> ah...
pere has joined #maemo-leste
<Wizzup> uvos: maybe rmmod the modem
<Wizzup> that turns it off I think
<uvos> the stock kernel dosent have the modem as a module
<uvos> (the stock kernel dosent have any modules - except pvr)
<Wizzup> right
