<niceguy5000[m]>
What we can do is change to systemd, I heard is very popular.
<Ellowee[m]>
No micro&soft trojan
<niceguy5000[m]>
it's a virus?
<niceguy5000[m]>
does steam flatpak works in kiss linux?
<niceguy5000[m]>
Can you play games?
ioraff has joined #kisslinux
<phoebos>
kiss doesn't "need more popularity"
<ioraff>
looks better than I expected for the last few months
<niceguy5000[m]>
Is kiss the best source distro?
<ioraff>
in my completely unbiased opinion, yes
<testuser[m]>
Hi
<shokara_>
I haven't personally used KISS, but it seems much better than my previous favourite distro CRUX. (and it has the same name as that band too :D)
<shokara_>
"does steam flatpak works in kiss linux?" if you get glibc working maybe. foss games and proprietary vidya that are bytecode(?) (e.g. on java or haxe like minecraft and dead cells) should run fine on kiss.
<testuser[m]>
shokara_: flatpak works on musl
<testuser[m]>
Cuz it's just another distro
<testuser[m]>
Under your distro

Steam ran like crap with flatpak
<wael_>
Hi
<wael_>
<Ellowee[m]> "Steam ran like crap with flatpak" <- I disagree
<wael_>
For me it ran nearly as good as steam with native multilib
<Ellowee[m]>
>native multilib
<Ellowee[m]>
I didn't have (native) multilib, maybe thaT's why
<niceguy5000[m]>
can you install wine in flatpak?
<wael_>
Yes
<wael_>
I tried using it and it worked quite well
<wael_>
Although the wine version is old
<niceguy5000[m]>
whoa that's cool.
<wael_>
Its hidden by default
<wael_>
Its called org.WineHQ.Wine
<wael_>
Ellowee: what I mean is the lib32 multilib stuff for kiss
<wael_>
Flatpak should already provide this though
<wael_>
System -> Flatpak (GL32) -> Steam Runtime
<wael_>
I love
<wael_>
Distro within distro within distro
<illiliti>
what if kernel does not support lib32
<illiliti>
would it still work
<wael_>
No
<wael_>
Probably not
<wael_>
I need to try to get minecraft running ngl
<wael_>
I have steam working (although steam launchers are broken and do not set correct library paths; but games do work!!), and wine working
<Ellowee[m]>
<wael_> "Ellowee: what I mean is the lib3..." <- I didn't install it, maybe that's why it ran like crap
<wael_>
Even if you did the flatpak environment would not change
<wael_>
Its probably your system's drivers missing stuff like opengl or vulkan
<Ellowee[m]>
Was an integrated intel trying to display 4k
<wael_>
...no wonder it ran like crap
vb is now known as vbt
ioraff has quit [Ping timeout: 268 seconds]
<niceguy5000[m]>
can I build a qubes like system with kiss linux?
<niceguy5000[m]>
and call it quss linux?
<niceguy5000[m]>
Description can be "Most secure system without the bloated"
<Ellowee[m]>
That's been my dream for a while but been too lazy to achieve something similar
<Ellowee[m]>
Xen patched kernel, cli vm manager
<Ellowee[m]>
And a lot of preinstallation arrangements
<niceguy5000[m]>
that will be awesome
<niceguy5000[m]>
It's easy to create, no internet on the dom0 like qubes, compile on a vm and such. pci passthrough net to vm and make a router out of it. Make a harden kiss linux template with bubblewrap and apparmor on tor browser and other apps.
<niceguy5000[m]>
make shells scripts to manage it all. instead of a gui like qubes.
<niceguy5000[m]>
only xl tool is needed.
<wael_>
not sure about the packaging aspect of that
<wael_>
just look at void-packages and kiss-find for references
<niceguy5000[m]>
copying and pasting could be a problem, I think qubes has a some kind of custom python one.
<wael_>
Bloat
<niceguy5000[m]>
yeah you can just open up a tty console.
<niceguy5000[m]>
all the details of how to use xl tool is here.
