We being counterproductive, we should embrace rust as our core language, forget about C, C is of the past, embrace the future.

Why's Rust in the Linux kernel going to be a thing?
<Guest34>
Is it because they believe Rust is a much better language?

Hello, I have a plan to install kiss linux and found a good tutorial by denshi (from youtube), my question about kernel compiling is which one is necessary for saving time, `make localconfig`, `make defconfig`, or `make menuconfig` ? I successfuly compiled a kernel on debian with `make menuconfig` but I left it as default / not touch the options. I also tried with `make defconfig` once, it's succesfully compiled and took a less

time but when I booted it, it's just blank. Thanks.
<testuser[m]1>
localconfig just uses the config of the currently loaded kernel I think
<testuser[m]1>
U can use localmodconfig of any known working kernel
<testuser[m]1>
Or just defconfig and enable options for your hw according to gentoo wiki
<ahmadraniri1994[>
testuser[m]1: interesting, I'll go to gentoo wiki now, Thanks testuser .

testuser: ahmadraniri1994 : localmodconfig sets all modules from currently loaded kernel to be module, localyesconfig does the same but builds modules in kernel, if going to use localmodconfig u need initramfs
