18:34 <feinedsquirrel> Well, I tried a few things, and with the precmd trick disabled, I but the line in my ~/.vimrc `let &t_te.="\e[ q"` It seems to be working, but as I said, I'm not sure if that is over-writing other values included wtih t_te by default.

19:19 <feinedsquirrel> Ah ha! `:set t_te?` prints what the current value is set to. using let &t_te.="\e[ q"` appends to the default value. Should I make a comment on issue 797 suggesting that as a fix, or should I leave it be since that issue has been clsoed 4 years now?
