Hey, I joined this channel to ask about a weird issue with the Ctrl/Meta-Arrow keys malfunctioning in Emacs. I updated from Emacs 28 to 29, which somehow fixed the issue.

Hey, I have encountered a issue with foot and texting to make sure i dont re-create issue on git. I am using swaywm and have alt as my meta key. whenever switching back to foot from a different window it recives few ghost key strokes. like when running ranger i see rename prompt is opened or when running htop the selected tab (for example cpu tab)
<n0tduckie>
is sorted differently. This behavious consistent and it not replicating on other terminal emulators such as alacritty.
<n0tduckie>
this is new issue and was not present when on prev version

n0tduckie: you're using a buggy terminfo from ncurses
<dnkl>
either upgrade ncurses, or switch to the terminfo we provide
<n0tduckie>
oh. i have read this on wiki but was not able to connect the issue. i'll do that. thank you
<n0tduckie>
I have installed the foot-terminfo and have the environment variable to TERM to foot. is there anything else am missing ? also am running latest ncurses 6.4
<dnkl>

When I clear the screen with `ctr-l` and then open a new window, the original windows contents reappear. How do I prevent this?

bent_fingers: foot always pulls down as much as possible of the scrollback when the window is resized. This in itself has nothing to do with ctrl-l
<dnkl>
if you're ok with ctrl-l clearing the entire scrollback, you can probably hook your shell's screen-clear function to instead wipe the scrollback
<bent_fingers>
yeah, thanks, I see I can do it through bash' readline: `bind Control-l: clear-display` rather than `clear-screen`
