<davidlt[m]> Well, hopefully at least this isn't manual where you constantly need to move microSD card :)

<davidlt[m]> We are approaching 110 hours on GCC 13 build.
<davidlt[m]> Funny thing, if there is enough RAM on VF2 this could be 1.5-2.0x faster :)
<davidlt[m]> GCC 12 got longer build times, I would expect GCC 13 to take even longer to build.
<davidlt[m]> Interesting thing I noticed this morning, there are not LTS kernel in 2022. v6.1 wasn't (yet) picked for LTS.
<cwt[m]> I got a strange event on my VF2 with my custom kernel. If I attach USB-TTL to my board, but I shutdown my computer that monitor the serial console, there are chances that the board won't boot. Once, I attach the USB end of the USB-TTL to a computer that is power on, or even attach to the USB port on VF2 itself, the board booted up almost every time.
<davidlt[m]> Someone should double check that.
<davidlt[m]> On early Unmatched boards (Rev 3A0; non-production) we had a bug where the board would reboot if you connected to serial console :)
<davidlt[m]> That was a hardware bug.
<davidlt[m]> It was fixed in Rev 3B0 (production boards).
<cwt[m]> I enable a lot of options on my custom kernel, I think I may enable something that is still WIP.
<davidlt[m]> cwt: until things are not upstream you should not expect a stable system. That's my personal view.
<davidlt[m]> It really takes months to a year before things get into a decent state.
<davidlt[m]> Upstream + more folks using it will shake the bugs out, but that takes time.
<cwt[m]> yep, I always considered my custom kernel as an extremely experimental.
<davidlt[m]> So before Christmas things might be in a good spot :)
<davidlt[m]> (preferably sooner)
<cwt[m]> I hope so.

<davidlt[m]> > +bool "Support PMU for StarFive JH71XX Soc"
<davidlt[m]> This landed in linux-next.
<dtometzki> davidlt: where do you get so fix the information ?
<davidlt[m]> You mean how I follow development? That's basically IRC, mailing list and kernel.org git repos.
<dtometzki> and for linux-next and riscv is it a own mailinglist ?
<davidlt[m]> not, I just grep logs and see what's new since last time I checked.
<davidlt[m]> I usually check things every day / few days.
<kwizart> seems like lot of work is still needed, but good news!
<davidlt[m]> kwizart: yeah, months of work, but more than needed is being reviewed on the mailing-list.
<davidlt[m]> It's just a question when it gets into the shape and gets enough testing to land in the stable branch :)
