davidlt[m]: turns out using `systemd.default_timeout_start_sec=360s` on the kernel command line is what I needed to get rid of (most) systemd timeouts when booting on a 50MHz cpu :)

you mean an unmatched? Pretty sure those are sold out, but there's some sifive-ish boards (like the Vision Five 2, for example)
