g7fya: cool. Yeah it is a pretty thorough kernel config and always comes in handy since it supports pretty much everything a standard AMD and Intel system requires
<SiFuh>
I was thinking, and maybe jaeger will like the idea, that if I make one for the kernel version for CRUX 3.7 or something and that config could be included on the install CD in case someone needs it. Doesn't take up much space.
<g7fya>
Sifuh thx alot for sharing, it was extremely annoying

yah that would be greate
<SiFuh>
g7fya: Did you ever check out ckut? It is in my repo. I designed the port because I _was_ but not much anymore keeping constantly updated kernels
<SiFuh>
It looks similar to the CRUX installer but for kernel building only
<SiFuh>
It runs as root user though. I never got around to making it compile kernels as a normal user.
<g7fya>
I did clone your Documentation and will clone this one too
<SiFuh>
Documentation is junk hahaha
<SiFuh>
And if you do port building. I have an unmaintined repo where i move my no longer used ports over
<g7fya>
it seem there are some useful docs about syslinux and also has Kernel Configuration :) so its not all junk
<SiFuh>
Yeah, I like syslinux so I wrote the cheat sheets and stuff because I found other distros were not very good at explaining it
<SiFuh>
And CRUX 3.6 Encrypted is a very useful cheat sheet also. I have one for passwordless disk encryption that doesn't use dracut. But I do not like it because the key is available to anyone who can see dmesg or the kernel configuration
<g7fya>
see its not all junk ;)
<SiFuh>
It was just a proof of possibility that jaeger kind of got me interested in like a challenge.
<g7fya>
anyhow cannot thank you enough for you help
<g7fya>
you guys tack care
<g7fya>
*take
<g7fya>
bye bye

jaeger: what kernel version will be used in 3.7 ?
<jaeger>
Currently it's 5.15.55
<SiFuh>
jaeger: Oh that makes that easy hahaha
<SiFuh>
Do you mind to review and maybe take that config I posted for 5.15.21 as a starting point for non kernel experts?
<SiFuh>
I can make a 5.15.55 config but I doubt much changes
<SiFuh>
Actually leave it with me. I will do it today or tomorrow some time and move it to 5.15.55 to be sure.
<jaeger>
I tested it on my laptop, seemed to work fine
<SiFuh>
I was thinking that maybe it gets included only as an availble config on the iso.
<SiFuh>
Did you end up testing your track pad with it?
<jaeger>
yeah, and that seems to work as well. I haven't dug into it yet to figure out which particular config option is required, though
<jaeger>
I'm not opposed to making it available as a contrib thing on the ISO
<SiFuh>
As I said, it is highly modular and basically has everything you will ever need for a x86 and amd64 system
<SiFuh>
I will do a *.55 today and push it to my repo. Let you know then. I think it can be used as a trouble shooting config or one that they decide they just want.
<SiFuh>
Seems *.55 has some about 54 for additions and 51 subtractions. Okay be back later
