<Guest35>
my prt-get sysup for the first time says "System up to date"!
<ppetrov^>
are you bragging about it or complaining?
<groovy2shoes>
i think just sharing the joy and excitement. it's pretty satisfying when everything including rust and llvm and mesa and qt and webkit and libreoffice are all finally done compiling.
<ppetrov^>
i know, i also feel like this. I have quite some updates pending, but I am a bit reluctant to do it, because I am swamped with work and if something from my ports happens to break i don't want to waste time
<Guest35>
i am just excited to have an up to date system... even though it is minimal... barebones xorg with openbox. :)
<ppetrov^>
congrats man :)
<ppetrov^>
enjoy
<Guest35>
thanks! on to the new... btw, i don't know why but crux really speaks to me, more than gentoo or other comparable distros. just the satisfaction of barebone scripts and (the joys and woes) of compiling from source...
<ppetrov^>
i love the Pkgfiles
<ppetrov^>
you have used Gentoo before?
<Guest35>
i never got through gentoo install... i have used debian and arch mostly. back in the day tried BSD which I liked except for compatibility issues.
<ppetrov^>
mhm... i am curious to try gentoo, but seems a bit too much time to invest in order to get to know it
<ppetrov^>
what i really like about CRUX is that you can read and study the whole Handbook in an hour or two (I mean carefully)
<ppetrov^>
it is so... concise
ppetrov^ has quit [Quit: Leaving]
<joacim>
gentoo was nice, but i thought it all got a bit complicated over time. had to cut down a lot on use flags and remove masks and unmasks periodically
<joacim>
thats more my problem i guess. gentoo has some nice tools, and iguess i didnt use them right
