<jvrobert> I don't suppose anyone has a BTT piTFT50 working on a Rock pi 4 by any chance? I can find 0 documentation on getting it to work over mipi on Armbian
<steev>
i don't believe the mipi node is enabled on rockpro64

<Tonymac32> Should be doable by this point, I'm trying to remember if I did it on the RK3288. The RK3399 IP is more or less identical and the drivers are there

<steev>
don't you need the mipi node in the dt?
<steev>
it's in the dtsi for rk3399 (status = "disabled"; as always) - so it needs to be added to the rock-pi-4 dts
<c0rnelius>
overlay
<steev>
or overlay, although adding it to the dts doesn't cause it to use it unless something is connected so it seems overkill to have a dtbo just for &mipi_dsi {\n status = "okay";\n};
<c0rnelius>
just suggesting as most people don't patch and build kernels.
<c0rnelius>
but yes. would make more sense just to add it to the dts.
<steev>
that's fair too
<steev>
would be nice, maybe then i could finally use my display on the nanopc t4
<steev>
maybe i'll take a crack at it after work and i get some sleep
