kintel: Yeah. A few thousand isn't bad, all things considered. It's the sort of thing that really needs to be much higher to be worth it for fiscal reasons alone, but which there's really no obvious way to make it higher. Had you released it earlier, it still wouldn't have gone much higher, because OpenSCAD utilization was lower.

kintel: Many years ago I thought that making some books on various topics would be a fun career augment. But then I watched a morphing of the technical and scientific book market to the point where it seems almost all technical or scientific subjects one might write about have this same outcome, where it's not going to compensate for the time to produce. So one can still make a book, but it's more for

the accomplishment and status of having done it. The only profits to be had are on those extremely rare instances of people writing scientific books for the general public which have some sort of mass entertainment appeal, describing complicated topics in an engaging but fairly superficial manner, and happening to hit some top selling lists.

InPhase Yeah, definitely a bucket list/accomplishment thing for me :) ..but having a real publisher is nice - you get so much support for stuff which would make it quite the drag to do independently. Downside is, I can't just open source it when I feel like it..
