<teepee> "the rpi4 is almost good enough..." <- Wow!
<fancsali[m]>
Nice to talk to someone, who actually did it – I mean RPi foundation were keen to claim that this is the case, but then never tried, and never met anyone, who did...

<souvlakeeb>
Search for "bend lines" to find the section. I could not link to it
<J1A8476>
souvlakeeb so you make 2D drawings to send to the company?
<souvlakeeb>
Yessir
<souvlakeeb>
Note, it does not need to be dashed.
<J1A8476>
actually open SCAD can not export lines only polygons - so there is no color option
<souvlakeeb>
It could be a solid line, and I may be able to color it black. In my design I only need one color. Everything gets bent in the same direction
<souvlakeeb>
I think if it's black, it'd have to be dashed to differentiate from cut lines
<J1A8476>
A Line is one dimensional and this can't be done - you can make little notches and add lines in inkscape later at that position manually
<J1A8476>
did you ever rendered a 2D shape in open SCAD? you will notice that all color is gone
<J1A8476>
so you can not define a "cut" line you only can define the piece that is surrounded by cuts
<souvlakeeb>
That's a neat idea, but they accept .dxf. I don't think they will accept an image format
<peeps[zen]>
souvlakeeb: you might be better off with a dedicated 2D cad like https://librecad.org/
<souvlakeeb>
Huh, maybe I design it with openscad, then add lines in librecad
<J1A8476>
they specified that .eps from inkcape is ok
<souvlakeeb>
Oh I didn't recognize that format. Thank you both I guess I have options!
<J1A8476>
freeCAD has a bending module not sure if that exports 2D files but possible
<J1A8476>
at least you get the 3D image they like to have for better understanding your needs
<souvlakeeb>
that is a nice idea
<souvlakeeb>
I might try and do that
