teepee InPhase: I just got a shader switching menu item to work. When you can, please pull the branch and try it out: https://github.com/jbinvnt/openscad/tree/select-shader-location. It is activated with "View>Set Shader". For now, the user selects a parent folder containing Preview.frag and Preview.vert. I copied in the shaders from PR 3860. From my perspective, this means a deadline extension won't be necessary. Let me know if

teepee: Another thing to note is that I have not yet made many efforts to clean up resources created by OpenGL. My first priority was to get it working. After I've finished the dev log and other documentation for the midterm evaluation, I will get on to that so there are no memory leaks introduced by my code
