I just ran into the conda-forge people at the summit, so now they are helping me debug the mlpack package for conda... hopefully we can get it sorted out this weekend :)

yeah, I think so, except when I talked about templates I forgot to say that they make the code fast :)

if any python user was sitting there they might have been thinking "but you can already write generic code in python" (not realizing it could be slow)

and surely the Julia folks were thinking "we designed an entire language so you could do exactly this!" :)
