<uvos__> humanbeta: yeah in generall maemo applications have this deficancy
mdz has joined #maemo-leste
<uvos__> to load a specific file in the pdf viewer or other legacy maemo apps you need to use a dbus call
<Wizzup> I mean these are pretty trivial fixes, but yeah we need to make them
<inky> or for everyone, that's a great opportunity to have their names written with golden letter in the history of humanity.
<inky> contribution and simple fixes.
<inky> letters*

<humanbeta> I break my the only use Maemo OSs challenge..have to print to paper..I was too lazy to install Epson printer to Maemo..it is possible to connect it to Pinephone Keyboard, but I was too lazy to setup.
pere has quit [Ping timeout: 240 seconds]
<humanbeta> But have to say if you are brave enough you can use Pinephone Keyboard with mouse as your main computer with Maemo about 30 days...ok I used external monitor and fullsize keyboard with it, but only some hours.

<inky> wait wait, you said something interesting but i didn't understand. (:
<inky> first of all did you need maemo's pdf viewer to print via printer?
<inky> then you can also use evince or atril from devuan repos.
<inky> just apt-get install one of those.
<inky> maemo's pdf viewer crashed for me on some pdfs.
pere has joined #maemo-leste
<humanbeta> maemo pdf viewer is only for open pdf to view..I was too lazy to even really try to print from Maemo..but have to check later to programs you mentioned.
<inky> so how did u contect pp to monitor? did it autodetect the resolution? did u use use xrandr to route to two screens?
<humanbeta> I used Docking-bar to connect with HDMI and xrandr.
<inky> very cool it worked.
<inky> i only used droid4 with lapdock
<humanbeta> actually I used atrix lapdock with pinephone :) needs complex adapters to get connected.
<inky> and this way (https://github.com/norayr/home_sweet_home/blob/master/scripts/droid4/lapdock/d4both.sh) both d4 and lapdock screens are usable. but then the mouse pointer flickers.
<inky> > actually I used atrix lapdock with pinephone :) needs complex adapters to get connected.
<inky> interesting. this i dont understand how to do. i have pp's docking thing, it has hdmi socket
<inky> Then i need hdmi to micro (or mini) hdmi but with female connector on small part.
<inky> i think i have micro or mini, hdmi but it is a male connector which can connect to droid. and then i'll be able to see droids picture on external monitor or projector.
<humanbeta> there was on ebay ready made package of cable and adapters for raspberry pi to connect lapdock..I used that but not connected that separated power cable.
<humanbeta> btw..that Evince pdf viewer seems to be good viewer. I hope that somebody can maemofied it.
<inky> well, gnome is mobilish now.
<inky> and it's part of gnome.
<inky> and thanks to freemangordon we can type with maemo keyboard in gtk apps.
<inky> like dino. which i use always.
<inky> (there is one bug but i cannot understand when it happens, it happens so randomly. sometimes i type and then when i exit the keyboard i see that only signs like , are typed. but it happens rarel and i don't understand how to trigger that.)
<humanbeta> Evince works already fine with Leste, but that small menu should modified to normal Maemo upbar menu.

<inky> yeah, i guess. i wish there be very easy way to do that. or maybe it is already very easy, i just need to try once.

<freemangordon> sicelo: could you check if org.ofono.SupplementaryServices is supported on n900
<freemangordon> Wizzup: ^^^ same for d4
<freemangordon> please :)
<freemangordon> sorry, my test SIM is in modem attached to my VM and I don;t want to move it around no
<freemangordon> w
<Wizzup> sure, will check momentarily
<Wizzup> freemangordon: which modem do you use for vm
<Wizzup> I can check n900 too
<freemangordon> umm... some usb one, I think it came with anakin (or whatever codename was)
<Wizzup> ok, yeah
<freemangordon> please do
<Wizzup> eg25
<freemangordon> New USB device found, idVendor=2c7c, idProduct=0125, bcdDevice= 3.18
<Wizzup> I don't see it on my d4
<freemangordon> /usr/share/ofono/scripts/list-modems
<freemangordon> Wizzup: ^^^
<Wizzup> shit now I just wgetpasted my imei and sim id
<Wizzup> oh well
<freemangordon> well
<Wizzup> DM'd
<freemangordon> seems d4 ofono does not support call wating/forwarding
<freemangordon> *waiting
<freemangordon> Wizzup: any clue what is the difference between org.ofono.SupplementaryServices and org.ofono.CallSettings/org.ofono.CallForwarding
<Wizzup> not really...
<Wizzup> I have never used call forwarding yet
<freemangordon> I don;t get it which interface shall I use
<freemangordon> perhaps I have to ask on #ofono
<freemangordon> not really, the cahnnel is almost empty
<freemangordon> ok, will wait for sicelo to appear, he might have a clue
<freemangordon> btw, that eg25 or whatever modem I use to test does not have org.ofono.CallSettings/org.ofono.CallForwarding
<freemangordon> but only org.ofono.SupplementaryServices
<freemangordon> so I have the feeling org.ofono.CallSettings/org.ofono.CallForwarding are wrappers around org.ofono.SupplementaryServices
mrkrisprolls has joined #maemo-leste
<sicelo> supplementary services includes ussd (*100#). and yes, callsettings/forwarding are subset of supplementary services
<sicelo> n900 ofono supports supplementary services, yes
<sicelo> d4 ofono doesn't. even in android it's flakey
<sicelo> "which interface shall I use" ... what do you want to do
<sicelo> freemangordon: https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/network/ofono/ofono.git/tree/doc/supplementaryservices-api.txt#n101 onwards ... you can see the relationship between supplementary services and forwarding/barring, etc.
<sicelo> i think it's much easier to manipulate barring/forward, etc in the calsettings interface than the supplementary services iface

<sicelo> ah, supplementary it is then
<sicelo> but ... interface is mostly just a matter of some ofono driver?
<freemangordon> I guess
<freemangordon> maybe someone with PPP can provide info on the supported interfaces
<freemangordon> Wizzup: ^^^
fab_ has quit [Quit: fab_]
<Wizzup> freemangordon: PP or PPP?
<Wizzup> freemangordon: in any case they will be the same as for your modem
<sicelo> do people still use that btw? (call barring, etc.) :-p
akossh has joined #maemo-leste
<freemangordon> ah, ok
<freemangordon> for baring, dunno, but forwarding yes
<freemangordon> call waiting as well
<sicelo> i think nowadays operators have call waiting enabled by default for all subscribers, and almost no one ever changes that setting. anyway, not saying we shouldn't support it :-)
<Wizzup> sicelo: my gf does call barring for her phone/sim provider
<Wizzup> :D
<sicelo> hehe, i see. maybe it's just my part of the world where it's not used then. i've played with it in the past (when i still had symbian), but never used it much afterwards. and i've never seen anyone else using it
<Wizzup> I never use it either
