<tolszak> narmstrong: Do you find doable using mali with recent meta-meson (hardknott) on Odroid N2?

<narmstrong> tolszak: you mean the proprietary libMali or the open-source mesa ?
<tolszak> narmstrong: proprietary, cause that's the one hardkernel uses right?
<narmstrong> tolszak: you can use whatever, the propretary is a pain to integrate in Yocto and there is no X11 acceleration. On the other side the mesa implementation works out of the box, except the mesa version on hardknott may be a little old, so switching to an earlier mesa version would work better
<tolszak> But wayland works... at least that's what I'm told by hardkernel guys
<tolszak> So you are saying that perhaps it is possible to use it with current meta-meson kernel... I need plan B just in case
<narmstrong> Honestly, yes wayland works, but the pain to make the proprietary libMali work in Yocto isn't worth it. Note it's not only the userspace lib, but also the kernel driver which is different but still a huge pain to make build with the Yocto kernel recipe

<tortoise> I'm looking at trying to boot Manjaro or LibreElec on the askey adt-3 . Given that its S905Y2 same as the Radxa Zero. Can I just use the device tree from this patch? https://lore.kernel.org/linux-amlogic/20210909102154.22710-1-christianshewitt@gmail.com/T/#m3314fb3a41bec686ce84e174a7e085a04300e96b If not, what are the steps involved, is it mainly just getting the details right for a board specific device tree file? I'm
<tortoise> interested in learning what needs to be done, then figuring it out and contributing back
