<gbisson> narmstrong: have you seen any issues with misc part + aosp? looks like my partition gets reset before loading uboot
<mkorpershoek> gbisson I did. I found out that the "bcb load 2 misc" command somehow reads a "cached" version of the partition's content
<mkorpershoek> gbisson can you inspect your misc partition from the U-Boot shell (without relying on the bcb command) to check the content ?
<mkorpershoek> similar to https://termbin.com/ll3a

<gbisson> mkorpershoek: oh ok, I'll check taht
<gbisson> mkorpershoek: yup I can reproduce, thanks for the hint I was banging my head against the wall
<gbisson> I think I'm officially curse with this project ;)
<gbisson> thanks Baylibre for being around and sharing!
<gbisson> mkorpershoek: do you have a fix for the issue or should I offer one?
<mkorpershoek> Ahahaha:D
<mkorpershoek> I do think this was introduced in the upcoming 2022.01 release. in AOSP, we use an older (out of tree) release where this issue was not present (v2021.07): https://android.googlesource.com/device/amlogic/yukawa/+log/refs/heads/master/bootloader
<mkorpershoek> gbisson I have not found a fix. If you find something, feel free to submit
<gbisson> ok will do, cause this is annoying as hell to not be able to go into fastboot or recovery automatically
<mkorpershoek> I agree. I'm pretty interested in a fix as well.
<gbisson> mkorpershoek: did you see the issue with your 2021.10 branch?
<gbisson> mkorpershoek: nice I see that you tested the rawpartition for fastboot, it's pretty convenient
<mkorpershoek> gbisson: yes thanks a lot for that suggestion, it's waaay better than the out of tree series I made. I'm really happy to drop those
<mkorpershoek> gbisson: I don't recall. I'm retesting if I can reproduce the issue on my v2021.10 branch
<gbisson> mkorpershoek: thanks!
<gbisson> mkorpershoek: looking at the block changes in 2022.01 I don't see anything obvious except that they don't disable BLK_CACHE by default any more for SPL/TPL, but it shouldn't matter to bl33
<mkorpershoek> gbisson: I do reproduce: https://termbin.com/wg7z
<gbisson> mkorpershoek: ok nice, so it's a 2021.07 to 2021.10 issue
<narmstrong> It’s bisect time !
<gbisson> sorry I had to go back to aosp, which is working ok btw ;)
