<sewn> too much for a simple website

<sewn> that's for static site generation
<sewn> we talking serving
<sewn> and kimchi+tlstunnel is more nix phiolosphy focusrd
<sad_plan> and we want static sites, do we not? thought caddy also just converted md to html?
<sewn> do you really want a webserver to do that for yiu
<sad_plan> why? smu works just fine, so does werc
<sad_plan> im inclined to belive one can quark and be done for the day, to serve a simple website
<sewn> sad_plan
<sewn> smu is a markdown generator
<sewn> werc is a static site generator
<sewn> they are not webservers
<sewn> quark is a webserver
<sewn> you can use it but do you want something with thousands of features to do something quark or kimchi could do just to serve the website
<sad_plan> I was refering to caddy. I know smu and werc isnt a webserver.
<sad_plan> i dont want thousands of features. I just want the bear minimum
<sad_plan> s/bear/bare/
<sad_plan> and in this case, I think quark works just fine
<sewn> sure
<sewn> but you want https
<sewn> <sad_plan> i dont want thousands of features. I just want the bear minimum
<sewn> then don't use caddy
<sewn> or defend it
<sewn> lol
<sad_plan> most likely, yes. seeing as im somewhat of a security advocate aswell, it would be ironic if my website did not serve https at all. people would also shy away from it because modern browsers will alert about it
<sad_plan> im not defending caddy :p
<sad_plan> I was meerly suggesting an alternativ. a better one that is
<sewn> mm

<vouivre> phoebos: sorry, now I get it. For me the build flags were the flags the user has to use.
<vouivre> like you said the build flags are chosen to run on any x86-64 architecture. If the user want to change afterwards, it's something else.
<vouivre> next time I have to read and think about it........ it will be better :-)
<vouivre> thank you for the clarification
