<alegator> hello, i think kiss linux is cool, i tried to set it up but the kernel panics on boot: "kernel panic - not syncing: vfs: unable to mount root fs on unknown-block(0,0)"
<alegator> i haven't built a linux from scratch before, does anyone have any suggestions for what i should try, or what to go read?
<midfavila> using grub?
<alegator> yes, using grub
<midfavila> use something else
<midfavila> i've never had success with grub on my setup
<midfavila> someone else here is likely to be much more helpful than i
<midfavila> pretty sure it has something to do with how grub passes parameters
<midfavila> i don't have trouble with extlinux
<alegator> is it a drop in replacement for grub
<midfavila> No.
<midfavila> It's one of the components of SYSLINUX
<midfavila> I find it much easier to use.
<midfavila> But if you prefer GRUB then ignore me.
<alegator> i do not have a preference :p
<alegator> besides getting it to boooot
