<drez>
has anyone ported kertex to kiss linux?

<shokara>
I'm assuming you mean packaged and not ported?
<shokara>
kertex should run on any *nix and plan9 out of the box
<shokara>
(probably, I haven't tried myself because of the build system)
<drez>
I mean packaged, yeah
<drez>
I thought it was pretty much synonymous with ported
<drez>
just that porting involves porting the code if it doesn't run already
<drez>
sort of an umbrella term
<drez>
like how when one says bsd ports
<shokara>
ah that's what you meant

<Guest46>
Hi
<shokara>
hello
<drez>
salute
<Guest46>
I have a dualshock4 that appears in dmesg, all kernel modules mentioned in gentoo wiki are compiled in-kernel, the controller is working in evtest. But mednafen doesn't detect it. Any tips?
<drez>
maybe mednafen uses something different
<shokara>
does /dev/input/js* exist?
<shokara>
maybe mednafen uses the joystick interface instead of evdev
<Guest46>
shokara yeah that doesn't exist. I tried making a fake input/js0 and mednafen complained /sys/class/input/js0: faild...etc
<Guest46>
So I think you are right.
<shokara>
try enabling the joystick interface then
<shokara>
I think it's in Device Drivers -> Input -> Joystick?
<shokara>
(or grep for CONFIG_JS)
<Guest46>
It is enabled Just checkd with grep
<Guest46>
another thing
<Guest46>
I used to play with bluetooth through dbus and bluetooth and js0 did exist if I recall correctly.
<Guest46>
and bluetoothd*
<shokara>
maybe udev is messing with you
<Guest46>
I use mdev
<shokara>
strange
<Guest46>
how js0 is normally created? maybe we can create the nod and test?
<shokara>
yeah you can try using mknod, but I don't know what the major:minor numbers are
<Guest46>
I use uevent but there is a bunch of them(i.e: major, minor #s).
<Guest46>
I just wanted to play with my brother, and it turned into a maintainence session. We went to the beach instead.
<testuser[m]>
Guest46: check udev rules in other distros
<testuser[m]>
And add an equivalent mdev rule
<shokara>
if it was a permissions issue, wouldn't mednafen have complained about that?
<shokara>
and evtest not have worked?
<Guest46>
testuser[m] will do.
<testuser[m]>
shokara: udev is for creating nodes too not just perms
<shokara>
right
<Guest46>
shokara maybe. But it is not a permission issue, because I chmod 644 input/event10.
<shokara>
yeah then an equivalent rule may help
<Guest46>
I'm not very familliar with rules. Can i have a recipe?
