Packaging `sudo` right now, interesting that setting the prefix to `$DESTDIR/usr` ends up with a package built where no binaries and libraries and manual pages can be found in expected locations, only `/etc` is where `sudoers` and couple more files were present but they marked read only, even for root LOL. Checking the linuxfromscratch page for sudo mentions hardcoding prefix to `/usr` and when done that, the result ends up with visible
<iceman[m]>
binaries in the filesystem and correct permissions for `/etc` config files
<testuser[m]>
iceman: use opendoas
<testuser[m]>
PREFIX should never have destdir prefixed
<testuser[m]>
because destdir is already prefixed to prefix
<testuser[m]>
so now its doing $DESTDIR/$DESTDIR/usr
<iceman[m]>
ah
<iceman[m]>
yeah I just realised that
<iceman[m]>
I made two tarballs and extracted
<iceman[m]>
checked difference
<iceman[m]>
and kept a log of kiss output
<iceman[m]>
testuser[m]: hmm, sure why not
<testuser[m]>
iceman: you can just do `kiss manifest $PKG` rather than diffing dirs
<iceman[m]>
oo
<iceman[m]>
i c
<iceman[m]>
btw testuser, any advice on packaging linux or self? I was gonna go through your package but I thought why not do it myself
<iceman[m]>
s/or/for/
<testuser[m]>
most people just do it without a package
<testuser[m]>
package is useful if u want to maintain extra patchdes
<testuser[m]>
s/patchdes/patches/
<iceman[m]>
testuser[m]: yeah it's easier
<iceman[m]>
testuser[m]: not really, tho I wanna try lto
<testuser[m]>
you'll have to copy my build script verbatim to avoid perm issues
<testuser[m]>
idk what it even does i copied it from dilyn
<iceman[m]>
lol
<iceman[m]>
I'll ask unkil ted, he has a really nice debian setup
<iceman[m]>
s/unkil ted/ifndr/
<iceman[m]>
<testuser[m]> "so now its doing $DESTDIR/$..." <- strange, when I get a working gui I'll show log
