well, at least i'm not the only one frustrated by libtls. i've found a few other people on the net complaining about it being more difficult than it claims to be, and after trying to run a few supposedly-good example clients without luck i'm tempted to just throw my hands up

if i knew i wouldn't be complaining. for some reason (errno nor tls_error will tell me) i consistently fail to receive data over a TLS socket despite not having trouble establishing and transmitting over the same link

i'm going to probably scrap the networking code of fetch/apport/hc/whatever and build up around a modified example

and just fiddle with it until i get it to work
