<dnkl> baltazar: then the issue is that sway, if not all compositors, don't send the correct scale until after the window has been mapped.
<dnkl> att that point it's too late for the initial-window-* options to work
<dnkl> it works before/without fractional scaling because then we can guess the scale from the available outputs

<dnkl> baltazar: I've updated the man page to mention that there are likely issues with fractional scaling combined with the initial-window-size-* options
<dnkl> toast: appreciate it!
<toast> dnkl: \e[4:4m (curly underline) has some weird kerning to it, it feels less like a dotted underline and more like each individual character has a dotted underline with gaps between those
<toast> it's odd since :5m is fine
<dnkl> toast: that's because it's exactly that - each cell/character is underlined without any knowledge of, or adjustment to, neighbouring cells
<dnkl> it's one of the things I'd like to improve
<toast> mhm
<toast> all of the other styles look fine
<dnkl> curlies are fine since each character consists of two diagonal lines, connecting nicely to the neighbouring cell
<dnkl> dashed is probably mostly luck... other fonts/sizes will likely look worse
<toast> makes sense then

<baltazar> dnkl: hmm, I see. though what's strange is that in a different setup, I have one output at 1.33333 scale, the other at 1. shouldn't it work on the unscaled one then?
<dnkl> baltazar: not necessarily, since you have two monitors
<dnkl> foot has to guess the scale, and if it picks the wrong output when guessing, it won't work
<baltazar> but then wouldn't it work on at least one output? in my case both are wrong
<dnkl> no, because you have fractional scaling
<dnkl> that means the scale factor foot see on that output is 2, not 1.3
<baltazar> ah
<baltazar> oh well
<dnkl> everything will just work (tm) if/when compositors start sending the correct scale factors before mapping the window...
