Hi, I have an issue with my foot :D
<Felix79>
When I'm closing nvim, I can still see the buffer contents.
<Felix79>
I read something about altscreen on stackoverflow, but cannot find any altscreen configurations for foot when googling.
<Felix79>
Does anyone have an idea, what could cause the issue? Screenshot demonstrates how nvim buffer is still visible after quitting: https://ibb.co/5WrY85b

Felix79: what is your $TERM set to? I use neovim all the time with foot and don’t have this, so it’s either your neovim config or some state being wrong
<Felix79>
foot-extra
<Felix79>
(manjaro sway community edition is my distribution)
<Felix79>
found this package on my system:
<Felix79>
local/foot-terminfo 1.17.2-1
<Felix79>
Extra non-standard terminfo files for foot, a Wayland terminal emulator
<Felix79>
eh, required by manjaro-sway-settings ...

foot-extra doesn’t sound right but maybe it’s a thing? try setting it to just “foot” and see if that changes anything
<toast>
if it doesn’t, it’s probably your nvim config
<Felix79>
yip thanks, export TERM=foot fixes the vim-quitting behavior

<dnkl>
foot-extra is usually the terminfo from foot's repository, while 'foot' is from ncurses
<toast>
ah that makes sense dnkl, I remember now, I just kept shipping the upstream terminfo as "foot" :)
<dnkl>
assuming both are up to date, they should be identical, except that foot-extra contains additional capabilities not upstreamed by ncurses
<toast>
(though tbf I haven't had time to rebuild packages in a while now;;; need to relaunch that other research project)
<toast>
my guess is that foot-extra doesn't exist or is severely outdated or something like that
<dnkl>
yeah, that'd be my guess too
