<lh> what kind of stuff is the OSC 7 CWD signal useful for?

<dnkl> lh: to be able to spawn a new terminal instance in the same working directory
<manio> dnkl: hi, did you maybe changed something with handling glyphs (especially selecting symbols from font sets) in recent foot ?
<dnkl> manio: depends on what you mean by "recent".... but no, nothing I'm aware of
<manio> hmmm... afaict I only changed foot version and some of my glyphs are black and white (i know - I read the faq)
<manio> what is weird is that I did not make any other changes (eg to font packages etc)
<manio> even alacritty shows that glyphs correctly as before...
<dnkl> fcft-2.5 changed how legacy emojis are handled. May be that you're seeing
<manio> oh
<dnkl> do you control the output? or is it printed by another program?
<manio> it's my application
<dnkl> can you tell me the Unicode codepoints if the emoji(s) that are now black?
<manio> but I have this also eg in neovim
<manio> yeah, sec
<manio> this is weird
<manio> I just copied the candle from https://emojipedia.org/candle/
<manio> and when I pasted it in the vim
<manio> i have an old black and white and a new correct one side by side :)
<manio> so this lead me to suspect that that glyphs probably has some wrong/old codes
<dnkl> manio: On the phone and still can't see the actual codepoint number. but, can you try the following two echos in bash:
<dnkl> echo -e "🕯️\ufe0e"
<dnkl> echo -e "🕯️\ufe0f"
<dnkl> (hope that came out right...)
<dnkl> basically, the code point,*immediately* followed by \ufe0e and \ufe0f
<manio> dnkl: how about this?
<manio> the emojipedia has a "copy" button
<manio> it just copied the glyph code...
<manio> when I paste it in cmdline then I've got this what you can see in the last line
<manio> a glyph + code
<manio> when I paste it directly to the neovim
<manio> it is correct :D
<manio> that echos you provided doesn't work (zsh)
<dnkl> the echos probably doesn't work because i had to copy the glyph from your link instead of typing the raw codepoint...
<dnkl> point is, that glyph needs an explicit "emoji variation selector"
<dnkl> that's either U+fe0e, or U+fe0f, can't remember which
<dnkl> older fcft didn't implement correct handling of these (or the absence of them)
<dnkl> fcft 2.5 does
<manio> dnkl: i see, thanks
<rumpelsepp> according to the OSC7 question. Is it possible to use this with tmux as well? Any experiences?
<rumpelsepp> I mean just pressing ctrl+shift+n and foot spawns a new window with cwd in the same dir as the current tmux pane.
<dnkl> rumpelsepp: don't see why it shouldn't work. But guessing you need to use tmux' pass through escape
<rumpelsepp> Ah, I see
<rumpelsepp> thus fish must emit this escape sequece, which it does not.
<dnkl> rumpelsepp: re the color palette; you only need to set one of regular0 and color0
<rumpelsepp> This I can just remove the regular and bright ones?
<rumpelsepp> *Thus
<dnkl> yes
<rumpelsepp> nice
<rumpelsepp> done
<novakane> oh foot crashed with senpai for me too
<dnkl> novakane: have you updated to 1.10.3?
<novakane> dnkl: ah no, build it 2 days ago
<dnkl> I pushed a crash fix yesterday, and backported to 1.10.3 (released yesterday)
<novakane> cool, I'll update it then, btw is there a way to automatically update subprojects?
<dnkl> don't think so...
<novakane> I thought so, too bad, would be cool
