jaeger changed the topic of #crux to: CRUX 3.6 | Homepage: https://crux.nu/ | Ports: https://crux.nu/portdb/ https://crux.ninja/portdb/ | Logs: https://libera.irclog.whitequark.org/crux/
<jason123onirc> ok whenever
<jason123onirc> the repo page is here and there is a list of what the minimum needed is
<SiFuh> Okay
<SiFuh> CRUX 3.6 right? Fully up-to-date and you ran revdep right to make sure nothing is broken?
<jason123onirc> i never ran revdep but i will
<jason123onirc> nothing
<SiFuh> Ok cool, everything is updating now. Then I will install the xfce stuff that you have
<SiFuh> Will take a few hours because this is a core system and I will ned to build xorg and other stuff
<jason123onirc> ok that is fine
<SiFuh> I may also require a complete list of everything you installed but there is no hurry on that. prt-get listinst -vv >> SOMEOUTPUT.log
<cruxbot> [contrib.git/3.6]: ripgrep: don't use cargo update
<cruxbot> [contrib.git/3.6]: delta: 0.13.0 -> 0.14.0
<jason123onirc> I don't think I have much installed besides what the default is and what is required for i3 and xfce and the such
<jaeger> I do use mate and generally it should build fine. I check it periodically.
<jaeger> I'll run it through a container build again and see what the current state is
<jaeger> Looks like mate/libgnome-keyring needs intltool just like gnome-keyring does, I'll get that added tomorrow. In the meantime you can install intltool any time to fix that one

<divya> jaeger: I've been at this for days now, xrandr gives me "gamma output" errors, that I don't know how to fix. Its more or less just difficult to use CRUX in that screen resolution.

<jaeger> divya: not sure what to tell you... what video hardware do you have? maybe you could pastebin an Xorg log

<SiFuh> jason123onirc: Made mate?
<jason123onirc> nope mate gives error on some package
<jason123onirc> I would have to try and compile it to see what the error is
<SiFuh> You got xfce4 working?
<jaeger> I was able to build all of MATE last night with only 3 manual interventions: libgphoto2, libgnome-keyring, and gpgme - 2 of those are not mate ports, libgnome-keyring I'll fix today
ardo has quit [Read error: Connection reset by peer]
<jason123onirc> no i did not get xfce working yet
<jason123onirc> i am going to try and see what the error is for mate

<jason123onirc> jaeger, nope not any of those issues
<jason123onirc> https://ibb.co/MgPQRwb
<jason123onirc> this is the error
<jaeger> I don't get that error locally, it builds fine here :/
<jaeger> That test doesn't even happen in my build log

<jaeger> http://ix.io/49yI <-- here's the whole build log if you want to compare anything, it doesn't make all in docs
<jason123onirc> I think I should reinstall crux and see if that changes anything

<joshkol> Hello anyone can you compile firefox? mine outputs: error: could not compile packed_simd_2
<jaeger> I haven't tried to compile it in a long long time but I can give it a try in a container later. Gone for a few hours now, though. Maybe someone else has recent experience with it
<joshkol> I think it's because of the recent rust update.
