<fishe> fedora is on 5.18 at the very least, i can check right now
<fishe> live usb is 5.17.5
<SiFuh> I always found their kernels to be discovered under sedimentary particles under a fossilized sea bed discovered to be operating millions of years later after the destruction of the idiotic Democratic party
<SiFuh> Oooh that's cool
<fishe> republican party's no better honestly
<fishe> the entire system is backwards
<SiFuh> I beleive in a system of community rule and governments should be abolished
<fishe> same actually
<SiFuh> I do like the Anarachist approach but I think they are missing the point
<SiFuh> Communities existed for a very long time, but the only enemy they had was other comunities that were stronger and collective communities
<SiFuh> So we are fubared :-)
<fishe> yep
<fishe> it's kinda just what happens when you let people who'll do anything to hold onto power have power lol
<SiFuh> I think politics ends at 5 years
<SiFuh> I also think police shoul dnot server longer than 5 years
<fishe> police shouldn't have anywhere near the power they have to begin with
<SiFuh> 5 years is enough to corrupt and enough to harden
<fishe> arizona's made it illegal to record within 8ft of a police officer, corruption all the way up
<SiFuh> Career politicians should be a criminal offence
<fishe> exactly
<SiFuh> It should be a duty and NOT a job
<SiFuh> Definitely not a career
<SiFuh> The problem with my 5 year police plan is the detectives
<SiFuh> I like the US sheriff system though
<fishe> true, it isn't bad
<SiFuh> As long as they stick by the consitution they could remain in office
<fishe> nobody with power sticks to the constitution
<SiFuh> Believe it or not the San Francisco Patrol Special Police was actually pretty good as well
<SiFuh> That is why they get kicked out by the people
<SiFuh> People = community
<SiFuh> This Democratic plea for defund police is so obvious.
<SiFuh> They want to federalize them
<SiFuh> Federal police should have no power
<SiFuh> They should rely on the local police only and the local police have the power voted in by the people
<fishe> imo police in general shouldn't have as much power as they do, even if they're only elected locally
<SiFuh> Sheriff's don't drive tanks
<fishe> in 2012 the US military sold riot gear insanely cheap to small town police departments
<SiFuh> In 2020 80 billion worth of Military equipment was donated free of charge to some camel riding arabs
<fishe> fair lmao
<SiFuh> Revelations is coming true and it is scary
<fishe> in the end we're just an invasive species that nature's gonna reclaim
<SiFuh> In Genesis God said he gave us the Earth and we will be in dominion over it.
<fishe> doesn't help that it's being sped along by the corrupt dipshits in power trying to destroy each other
<SiFuh> Those dipshits are Satanic and want to destroy everything
<fishe> i don't really believe in the idea that god have us dominion over earth personally
<SiFuh> Who wins, man or a tiger?
<SiFuh> Who wins man vs a tsunami?
<fishe> man if he uses tools
<fishe> but in the end we'll use those tools to destroy each other
<SiFuh> Thumbs up
<fishe> btw i was right, fedora is still on 5.18
<SiFuh> Yes, but that is a different story and sad
<SiFuh> Ooohh cool
<SiFuh> Is Fedore free?
<fishe> yeah
<SiFuh> I got vats and boilers to check back later
<fishe> it's effectively the downstream version of rhel, they want as many people to use it as they can so bugs can get weeded out before being merged upstream
<fishe> ah, nice lol
<SiFuh> I don't need a tsunami or explosion boiling the children to death down the road
<fishe> fair
<fishe> i just realized
<fishe> in fedora, if you type in a command for a package you don't have installed it'll prompt you to install it
<fishe> select yes and you can install packages as a non-elevated user

<ocb> heya
<ocb> anyone that has mirrors of some port repos
<ocb> i've experienced a data loss
<SiFuh> https://crux.nu/portdb/ <- repos
<SiFuh> ocb: What repos are you after?
<SiFuh> I have these
<SiFuh> And these on the external drive https://dpaste.com/DM577SSSA.txt
<ocb> SiFuh: sadly none of those, it was my repo called 'l25'
<ocb> the machine hosting it was scraped by missunderstanding with server hoster
<ocb> eh that was an unclear sentence
<SiFuh> What was the repo URL?
<farkuhar> http://l-25.net/crux/ if i recall correctly. by any chance was it archived by the wayback machine?
<SiFuh> Twice
<SiFuh> But nothing of value
<SiFuh> I even checked this and crux portsdb
_moth_ has joined #crux
<ocb> SiFuh: well done!
<ocb> looked at the webarchive, but somehow i missed looking at crux.nu/portdb/?a=repo&y=l25
<SiFuh> Yeah, I got everything that I could get as well
<SiFuh> Would be nice actually to have repos backed up to some location
<ocb> indeed, i remember there were some others too which are gone by now
<SiFuh> ocb: there was more than one crux.nu repo address that changed over the years.
<SiFuh> sshpass is one of the missing ports
<ocb> will remake it , you helped a lot :)

<farkuhar> SiFuh: according to the force profiles for Cherry MX keyswitches, you perform about .0024 J of work in a single keypress. Typing at a rate of 3.6 keypresses per second is a power output of 8.64 mW. Since you cannot expect to capture all that power output, your wireless keyboard cannot demand more than about 5mW of power if you want to run it off human movement rather than batteries.

<SiFuh> Good thing I don't use Cherry MX keyswitches. Sounds like a lot of work
fishe has joined #crux
<farkuhar> If the keyswitches you use offer less resistance or shorter travel distance, then it's much less feasible to do away with wireless keyboard batteries and power the device by human movement instead. Cherry MX switches are almost at the threshold that would make this idea viable, but the full details must be left to actual hardware engineers.

<jaeger> ocb: https://crux.ninja/tmp/l25.tar.gz if you didn't get what you needed, by chance
<jaeger> that's the working dir from the latest successful sync
<SiFuh> Cool
<SiFuh> I saved it too
<ocb> jaeger: thank you very much. i knew somebody must have it, at least the bot that kept scraping :)
