ukky: There was a wall between my house and the parents house. She had it knocked down when I was in Australia without my permission. Then parents started using our house to and our side of the property to store their stuff. There is a lot more to the story but I had all the locks changed in the house to stop them from just walking in.
<SiFuh>
ukky: So now that she has a feral dog living with us. She wants a fence built. I said just a metal mesh fence is fine like a BRC fence. So she asks a contractor and he asks is stainless steel fine. I said it is. Then he and my wife are discussing it and she comes over to me and shows me the idea. Chicken wire with a stainless steel frame bolted to the walls. She asks "Is this fine?" I said "No, it is
<SiFuh>
not fine. Just get them to install a BRC fence. Hang on... Is this going to cost you more than 3.000 MYR" She replies "But I already said he can do it" So I say "Why the hell did you ask me after you agreed with the guy to do it?" So now she angry with me.
<SiFuh>
ukky: I said "Why are you angry with me? You knocked the blood wall down. You kept the feral dog. I suggested a BRC fence and you want some ugly stainless steel and chicken wire job installed? Get rid of the dog. Problem solved"
<SiFuh>
ukky: So I checked online. There is a local seller here that sells BRC fences, gates and posts. I did the maths. 934 MYR to buy everything. All I need is someone to drill 24 holes into the concrete ground and I can easily install the fence.

ukky: So far the cleaning with engine degreaser went well. Need some aluminium metal polish next

dlcusa: Yeah, a giant over weight tranny DEI under that tip. Hahaha

ivandi doesn't like that grub2 depends on libnvme, because then it requires dbus to be installed? But if ivandi has managed to find alternatives to all the other ports that depend on dbus (cups, ghostscript, gtk3, firefox, ...) then surely it can't be too much trouble to install a bootloader other than grub2.
<farkuhar>
SiFuh: precisely my point. Why doesn't ivandi just switch to a different bootloader, instead of complaining that grub2 introduces a dependency on dbus?
<SiFuh>
If you need a menu, SYSLINUX is perfectly fine. And super easy to configure
<SiFuh>
And once SYSLINUX is configured and your system can boot you can uninstall SYSLINUX because you don't need the port on your system anymore.
<farkuhar>
Maybe I should ask ivandi which alternatives he uses for the other ports that depend on dbus. If I followed his example, I could give up maintainership of some more ports that are becoming difficult to keep updated on CRUX-MUSL.
<farkuhar>
It's not my preference to maintain a dup of librsvg in a crux-musl overlay; I'd rather be able to use the official port as-is. But until the toolchain problems with rust and proc_macro are resolved, a dup of librsvg is the cleanest way to satisfy the dependencies for maintainership of inkscape.
<farkuhar>
I suppose I could start learning Qemu or similar solution, to keep maintaining these problematic ports on a VM running CRUX-glibc. Ideally, though, the troublesome ports should be fixed to work on both variants of CRUX.

farkuhar: By the way that small section in Penang that had roads behind a fence that I was curious about is actually a park. And the roads are for people and bicycles. It kind of looked like a place for motorcycle driving test but it wasn't
<zorz>
farkuhar: when i will install trixie alpha, i will have a stable system for 10 years, I hope for 10 years you will not deal withh librsvg :Pp
<zorz>
good thing i only will live for another 40 years.
<zorz>
i feel sorry for next generations
<SiFuh>
Well I doubt it will last long. It will probably start breeding with Gray Wolves and then the Scientists will be like "WTF? We didn't think of that"
<SiFuh>
Breed itself out of existence ;-)

zorz: I liked it. The 2015 version was great
<SiFuh>
So many bad and negative reviews

<ukky>
SiFuh: why would you polish it? It looks very nice as is.
<SiFuh>
ukky: The polish will be able to get into the grooves and clean it a little more.
<ukky>
SiFuh: to me, it is already clean. Too much cleaning might be signs of OCD D
<SiFuh>
ukky: Hehe, or just getting the Fentanyl off of it :-P
<SiFuh>
ukky: I like how the handles are easy to remove. They fit inside it with plenty of room. So not only is it compact and easy to pack away. I can also put other stuff inside it.
<ukky>
Ha, that's why you want it to be lab-grade clean
<SiFuh>
Once it enters the fire it will fine. :-P

zorz: I only have seen references to this: Ch4 Kill List
