<zmatt> what does cat /etc/debian_version say ?
<mattb0ne> damn never mind
<mattb0ne> rcn-ee
<mattb0ne> said I could make it a flasher
<mattb0ne> with that command let me reboot  with the sd card in there
<mattb0ne> I am using the bullseye monthly
<zmatt> be sure to enter that command while booted from sd card, and then boot from sd card again
<mattb0ne> could i mess it up by not booting from the SD card again
<mattb0ne> actually I booted and it looks like it is flashing
<zmatt> I mean, if you created a flasher sd card but didn't boot from that flasher sd card then obviously nothing would have happened yet
<mattb0ne> ok i am on bullseye
<mattb0ne> now if I am connecting to the board via usb
<mattb0ne> do I need to do anything on the bealge to share internet
<mattb0ne> getting network unreachalbe pining 8.8.8.8
<mattb0ne> unreachable*
<zmatt> internet sharing via usb is never something that just works by default, it always requires setup on both sides
<zmatt> the easy way to get a beaglebone internet is via ethernet/wifi (whichever applies)
<mattb0ne> yeah these new laptops do not have ports anymore
<mattb0ne> i got two thunderbolt ports and that is it
<zmatt> it looks like usb-c ethernet adapters are available for as little as $10 (for 100 Mbit, not gigabit, but that's fine for this purpose)
<mattb0ne> ok I will go get one o fthose
<mattb0ne> of those *
<zmatt> seems like a good idea, since that will work without touching any config on the beaglebone (only need to enable internet sharing on the PC to that interface), and it avoids having to meddle with the settings of the bbb's usb network interface (on both sides) and risk losing connection to it
<zmatt> is your PC running windows or linux?
<mattb0ne> windows
<mattb0ne> i have wsl2
<mattb0ne> seems to be ok
<mattb0ne>  so far
<mattb0ne> does it make sense to be able to ping 8.8.8.8 but have sudo update fail
<zmatt> depends on the failure.. if the problem is dns resolution then yes I see no problem with that

<Guest30> Hi, I have a BBAI and I'd like to change the cpu frequency.  When I issue cpufreq-info, both cores report the "frequency should be within 400 MHz and 400 MHz."  But available frequencies listed go up to 1.5GHz.  Does anyone know how I can increase the cpu freq?  Do I need a kernel update?
<Guest30> oh also I tried changing the governor from userspace to ondemand to performance and had the same issue
