<gambl0r> @gentooman you can flash minimal or cli images to the sd card and then use armbian-config to install the desktop once installed on the target

Howdy. I'm having problems booting Armbian after having Orange Pi OS (Debian) installed on my NVMe on a Orange Pi 5 Plus. The power supply is more than good enough (it worked with the same board flawlessly until now, and even when going back into OPi OS) and the SD card is working in the board currently to test. When I put the SD card in with Armbian on it, the green LED stays solid and nothing else happens.
<DC-IRC>
<.richn> this ubuntu or debian
<barrowofdirt>
Armbian, I went for Ubuntu. Orange Pi OS was Debian.

<.richn> hmm current build I have for debiam for the T6 is working and installed to nvme
<DC-IRC>
<.richn> os I dont know sounds like a update on the opi messed up
<barrowofdirt>
Would it be possible to do something like install Armbian to NVMe from within Orange Pi OS? As I currently have that up.
<DC-IRC>
<.richn> we are not orangepi os
<DC-IRC>
<.richn> its up to them to do that
<DC-IRC>
<.richn> they would have to make a script
<DC-IRC>
<.richn> why not run armbian
<DC-IRC>
<.richn> we are working to get debian up and going
<DC-IRC>
<.richn> just give it time for my changes to go in
<barrowofdirt>
that's what I am trying to do... I can't get it to boot from SD card.
<Herc>
barrowofdirt, good make of the SD is important, my debian didnt boot from a kingston SD, but same .img booted fine from a Samsung SD
<Herc>
(that's an odroidc2 tho, but still..)
<Herc>
took half a day to find the issue :(
<barrowofdirt>
Guess I'll try another SD card or so... I gotta buy a new one, so I'll be back if it doesn't work.

<g7g> Hello, i try to rebuild my NAS with Armbian now and need some help please. I try to make a samba share. which is directly reachable in CAJA with smb://192.168.178.15/hd2tb1/ but its not reachable with smb://192.168.178.15/.
<DC-IRC>
<g7g> Why? I enabled the option "browsable" in the smbd.conf. Is there an additional thing i need to do? I added linux and samba users. The mother path /media (where my hdds are mounted) has recursiv 775 rights.
<DC-IRC>
<g7g> Caja shows my Odroidxu4, but when I click on it, it will give an error that its not mountable.
<DC-IRC>
<g7g> It completly dont work with Ghostcommander on Android.
<DC-IRC>
<g7g> I have other samba shares running on raspberrys with no problem.

<bjorn.eiriksson> I been installing the new version on all the old fleet (for no good reason other than to test, much of it is just discarded written off hardware). So far Banana Pi M2 image dont work, and Banana Pi M3 image dont work. (machines totally unresponsive to those) --- Was surprised to see M3 image ! on that godforsaken hardware that was never supported in the past.
