<zeewark1> hello out there, I have an issue with a hanging kernel, but increase the verbosity to 7 doesn't help either. I tryed setenv verbosity 7 but do not see what the kernel does during boot
<zeewark1> with an Orange pi
<DC-IRC> <Werner> Any chance to hook up a serial console to your board, whatever it might be?
<zeewark1> with an Orange pi zero v1
<DC-IRC> <Werner> Which image?
<zeewark1> Werner: we have already UART connection, we can watch the whole boot sequence until kernel takes over
<DC-IRC> <Werner> Which image did you try?
<zeewark1> Armbian 23.5 Jammy
<DC-IRC> <Werner> Aight, let me give it a shot real quick
<zeewark1> sorry Armbian_23.5.1:Orangepizero_jammy_current_6.1.30.img.xz

<DC-IRC> <IgorPec> check if its already here https://www.armbian.com/participate/
<DC-IRC> <Werner> Confirmed broken. Yes it is part of aw32
<DC-IRC> <Werner> Trying 6.2.y now
<DC-IRC> <Werner> Works
<DC-IRC> <Werner> for the record: https://paste.armbian.com/ikuwibezek
<zeewark1> Werner: thanks
<Herc> btw, I just installed Armbian_23.5.1_Odroidc2_bookworm_current_6.1.30_xfce_desktop.img - works pretty well, even reboot works (witch didnt work in Bullseye)
<zeewark1> we stuck at the same issue, the system comes up , the message loading kernel comes up and then nothing
<DC-IRC> <IgorPec> herc: this is responsibility of Armbian, boolseye did nothing here. Just to be clear 😉
<zeewark1> ...but it seems it is something wrong with the hardware, we discovered that we have another orange zero, and with this it worked
<DC-IRC> <IgorPec> zeewark1 there are some known problems with certain 32b board ... so this needs detail inspection

<Herc> igor, on bullseye it was a kernel issue, using an older kernel robbot worked too, but I just use bookworm from now on, I just wanted to report my joy :)
<Herc> s/robbot/reboot ;)
<ArmbianHelper> Herc meant to say: igor, on bullseye it was a kernel issue, using an older kernel reboot ;) worked too, but I just use bookworm from now on, I just wanted to report my joy :)
<DC-IRC> <IgorPec> we never ever used bullseye kernels 🙂
<DC-IRC> <IgorPec> kernel is always ours.
<DC-IRC> <IgorPec> if you build Bullseye today, bug will also be gone

<Herc> hmm, reboot only works in xfce and cinnamon DeskTops :( ; in Armbian_23.5.1_Odroidc2_bookworm_current_6.1.30.img reboot just shuts down, re-power needed to restart :(
<Herc> old odroid(c2) issue I think
<Herc> just saying, nvm

<vpeter> Anyone knows why Armbian has for Amlogic in file aml_autoscript "if printenv bootfromsd; then exit;" ? https://github.com/armbian/build/blob/main/packages/bsp/aml-s9xx-box/boot/s905_autoscript
<vpeter> I'm trying to find the source of this check.
<DC-IRC> <Werner> Did you ask steeman about it? Seems like this has been adopted from balbes https://github.com/armbian/build/commit/8dcab2be64c253ed6554fbcd32d901ed6c882ead

<DC-IRC> <Tenkawa> @werner there's an existing one in the u-boot package
<DC-IRC> <Tenkawa> ./packages/bsp/aml-s9xx-box/boot/aml_autoscript
<DC-IRC> <Tenkawa> I confirmed it "but"... I'm bot seeing it called
<DC-IRC> <Tenkawa> I confirmed it "but"... I'm not seeing it called
<DC-IRC> <Tenkawa> still checking
<DC-IRC> <Werner> I don't know, just did a quick lookup on the mentioned file 😉
<DC-IRC> <Tenkawa> there's a boot for it on mmc and usb
<DC-IRC> <Tenkawa> no dts though
<DC-IRC> <Tenkawa> just postcompiled as far as I can see
<DC-IRC> <Tenkawa> no scr though

<vpeter> How to contact steeman?
<e3ef13f4ff44> i'm running rk3318-box
<e3ef13f4ff44> there are no controls in alsamixer
<e3ef13f4ff44> how can i make the master control appear for each output?
<DC-IRC> <Werner> vpeter: via forums
<DC-IRC> <chemrgineer> I need help, I have radxa zero with AP6256 wifi module. I use nightly version (6.2.16-meson64) of armbian. I can connect wifi at 433Mb/s speed but I get maximum 50-60 Mb/s. What can I do to improve speed?
<DC-IRC> <Werner> Did you achieve better speeds in the past with older releases?
<DC-IRC> <chemrgineer> I dont know exactly, but I have noticed this problem 3-4 months ago.
wd has quit [Quit: WeeChat 3.8]
<DC-IRC> <Werner> Easiest would probably be to try some older releases like 22.08 and 22.05 to check if this improves things. So we get an idea if there were regressions within that period of time.
<DC-IRC> <chemrgineer> OK thanks for suggestion. I will try it.

<e3ef13f4ff44> The alsamixer is right, the devices have no hardware controls, so volume must be controlled from the source player."

<DC-IRC> <IgorPec> vpeter: he usually comes to developers meetings, so this is one way, other is to just open / reply on topic on forum. He is around, but not on chat
<DC-IRC> <oreo69> i found a bookworm build for the radxa rock 4cplus, gonna give it a good test, unfortunately no video acceleration, would have to be backported from bullseye
<DC-IRC> <oreo69> currently have a stable setup with armbian bullseye minimal version
<DC-IRC> <oreo69> incredibly slim, no cpu usage and barely any processes, also worked out i can choose desktop enviroments from armbian-config
<DC-IRC> <oreo69> appreciate the development thats gone into it as the radxa images are awful
<DC-IRC> <oreo69> only found one official image by digging thru their github that has video acceleration working
<DC-IRC> <oreo69> found the same debian version of armbian and seems to work also with vid acceleration, was reading some build notes and from what i can tell its based on the same kernal?
<DC-IRC> <oreo69> would like too kno
<DC-IRC> <oreo69> my image download folder for this is 58gb lmao
<DC-IRC> <oreo69> half of them have one thing broken that the next fixes then the one after that breaks things again, whats the best way to get started building my own images
