<DC-IRC> <oussama1 ($POX)> hi man
<DC-IRC> <oussama1 ($POX)> how i can solve this problem ??
<DC-IRC> <oussama1 ($POX)> i want to install ispconfig on debian 11
<DC-IRC> <Werner> Any tutorial that covers ISPconfig on Debian 11 should suffice since Armbian does not mess with userspace packages.
<MoeIcenowy> Nezha is not by Sipeed
<MoeIcenowy> it's by directly Allwinner
<MoeIcenowy> Only Sipeed is selling it abroads
<MoeIcenowy> (AWOL sells it inside China
<DC-IRC> <oussama1 ($POX)> plz help me to solve the problem
<DC-IRC> <oussama1 ($POX)> @Werner
<DC-IRC> <Werner> I am no developer, so I have no clue. I can only point you into some direction which I did 😉
<Werner> MoeIcenowy, noted. Thanks
<DC-IRC> <oussama1 ($POX)> Well tell me what did you do to solve this problem
<DC-IRC> <Werner> Nothing since I did not run into this problem. You did.
<DC-IRC> <oussama1 ($POX)> Yes, I ran into this problem. Can you ask an expert to help me?
<DC-IRC> <Werner> Everyone here is volunteering in their free time. Whoever thinks to know an answer can answer anytime. I don't know anyone particular that knows ISPconfig in detail here. Also this issue is not really Armbian related since it is out of scope of the project. Armbian provides a working kernel with mostly vanilla-like userspace on top and that's it. Everything beyond is userspace.
<DC-IRC> <Werner> My best guess is that you messed up something with your packages. AFAIK Bullseye does not ship php8.x but 7.4. So no idea where you got 8.2 and that probably causing trouble since dependencies do not match.
<DC-IRC> <Werner> If you add random 3rd party repositories/packages you have to deal with the consequences this might have.
<DC-IRC> <oussama1 ($POX)> thanks you

<DC-IRC> <Werner> Gave it a shot just for the heck of it. ispconfig install is indeed failing on arm64. Some digging revealed that it tries to install `rar` which is not available for arm64 and therefor fails.

<DC-IRC> <Werner> Removing the package from source skips this error but will probably cause issues later on. Would not waste any more time on it. Try something else like Froxlor
<DC-IRC> <Werner> @oussama1 ($POX) tl;dr: ISPconfig won't work with arm hw. Try Froxlor

<DC-IRC> <IgorPec> ispconfig works with armhf. at least it used to work back in the days. i used to run in on olimex with a20 ... years ago
<DC-IRC> <Werner> Either rar wasn't a dependency back then or there was/is a armhf package for it available
<DC-IRC> <IgorPec> no idea, also not sure what this problem has to do with armbian
<DC-IRC> <Werner> It hasn't was just bored and dug a bit 🙂
<DC-IRC> <IgorPec> whoever is providing ispconfig ... shold take care of dependencies
<DC-IRC> <Werner> It hasn't. was just bored and dug a bit 🙂
<DC-IRC> <IgorPec> ispconfig is quite a complicated suite to intstall
<DC-IRC> <IgorPec> probably some docker images exists by now
<DC-IRC> <Werner> Hm actually it is not. It is more or less a one-liner now that takes care of almost everything
<DC-IRC> <Werner> `wget -O - https://get.ispconfig.org | sh -s --`
<DC-IRC> <IgorPec> yes, but didn't somone asking something about php
<DC-IRC> <Werner> Maybe tried to do manual installation and messed something up. ispconfig adds a bunch of 3rd party repositires including for php8.2
<DC-IRC> <Jason123> ispconfig is a control panel?
<DC-IRC> <IgorPec> kind of, i used it to have my own mail server and several web sites. nothing fancy, works
<DC-IRC> <Jason123> I should try webmin again. Tried it a few years ago but never did much with it.
<DC-IRC> <Jason123> ispconfig does not support arm
<DC-IRC> <IgorPec> armhf is getting problematic. desktop wise we can only provide xfce, perhaps some other low end

<jantones> Hi everybody! I'm new using armbian, So, I have a problem and I dont know if there is someting i need to do.
<jantones> I have a Fan connected to pins 4 and 6, when I poweroff the fan continue working, someone knows the reason? or I need to do a config to stop the fan after poweroff the Orange pi 5?

<javabean> as long as the orangepi5 has power, that fan will spin. atleast mine has all through testing to get software working
<DC-IRC> <Tenkawa> The SBC always has power unless you have a switch to cut power so it will turn the fan back on if its a pwm fan even... (due to the pwm circuit no longer having any logic and the fan just being fed straight power)
<DC-IRC> <Tenkawa> Its a design nature of the boards
<javabean> pin 2&4 are "always" +5v. pin 6 is "always" ground. that is the pinout they list in their description

<jantones> javabean, thanks. I change the fan to pins 3v
<DC-IRC> <Tenkawa> jantones: they will still run there too btw
<DC-IRC> <Tenkawa> just slower
<jantones> DC-IRC, no, after poweroff is executed the fan stop working
<DC-IRC> <Tenkawa> Oh yeah that's right... it disables the 3.3v rail now that I think about it
<DC-IRC> <Tenkawa> Not optimal in my opinion but... the entire design is underwhelming
<jantones> DC-IRC, Yes, I mark this as a temporal solution in my list xD, but, What do you think? The better solution is a script to controlling the fan with python?
<DC-IRC> <Tenkawa> I'm using fancontrol (debian package)
<DC-IRC> <Tenkawa> but it usually needs pwm fan
<javabean> only would work if you are using a port that supports pwm. pin 1,2,and 4 are constant voltages
<DC-IRC> <Tenkawa> yeah
<DC-IRC> <Tenkawa> Mine are all pwm or mcu temp controlled
<DC-IRC> <Tenkawa> so python would be a good alternative
<jantones> Thanks for all, I will check my options
